Anyone have experience with Xiaomi Mi4C or Mi4i?

"ESS ES9018K2M DAC chip, use OPA1612 professional operational amplifiers

24-bit/192KHz lossless playback"

This looks good for $229.

I'd be using it on Cricket or AT&T. I don't know how much the lack of 1700MHz bands would effect the performance.

Not a performance issue. It is a connectivity one. Then you are limited to certain frequencies in your network(LTE wouldn´t work everywhere...)

Where did you found this info? Official page and shops don't mention ESS Dac in Mi4i.

It could be wrong of course but I hope it isn't.

Well, when you found it just on one random eshop and manufacturer never mentioned it(when it's posted as one of main features of Note), chances are really low.

Guys, what is the best budget smartphone to listen to music?

Here in my country i have many options, but we don't have HTC here. And the only Chinese option here is Xiaomi with its redmi 2.
I was looking for a budget phone to listen to musics. Have seen so far: Moto G 2014, Galaxy E5, Galaxy Gran Prime, Galaxy S3 Neo Duos, Xiaomi Redmi 2, ASUS Zenphone 5, Lumias 730, 830, 640, 640XL, LG L Prime, LG G3 Beat, etc...

Hi, is the audio output of Moto X and Moto G identical?

The Moto X has a better SoC, so i guess the inboard soundcard is a bit(!) better... But as it was said, the Moto X is nothing special, but the Moto G sounds good at its price point....

So value plays an important role....

I had the original Moto X and the 2nd gen Moto G.  The Moto X with headphone out was poor.  The Moto G with headphone out was better and the Moto G with otg usb dac is much better.

Never listened to current X and G.
