Sony Walkman (now named Music) app's UI is much better, I've used both.
I do wish that the file bitrate info wasn't on a tab though (scrolling to the right, and then scrolling down)...

Sure someone over at XDA has already ported the music app to rooted devices...

Why so hung up on knowing the bitrate?
me? - no particular reason, other than if it is there, why not show it... - seems clunky how Sony have implemented it...

Um, isn't that only for Sony phones though?

Btw, Poweramp's UI is nothing special. I like the clean material UI of Gonemad.

It is, but he said Poweramp had the best interface and well, it doesn't.

There's also Jet Audio. I haven't used it but many people like it. Apparently it has many features as well.

OK I tried back and forth on both Poweramp and gonemad player.

Poweramp seems to be more balanced and warm. Separations are slightly better. However, the vol is noticeably lower than gonemad.

Gonemad on the other hand has slightly cripser highs. The lows are better too. Bass and drums have more power and impact compared to poweramp. Overall, a more refined highs and lows than Poweramp but can be a bit overwhelming when playing rock, metal, etc songs

Do note that this is only initial comparison and both eq is on but on default preset.

Both ui are good but I prefer Poweramp as it looks more beautiful yet simple to use. However i think gonemad is more user friendly. Also, both offers good amount of features to use.

I just tried the ZenFone 2 today and it sounded very bassy, even with equalizer off and that Dolby thing off. Personall, that kinda put me off so I'm gonna look for something else... Any tips for something with good sound and camera with 4.5-5 inch screen? (and possibly reasonable price?)

The GSMarena review indicated that it had a pretty flat response.  Certainly flatter than the m8 [2]. Although the m8 has less noise.

The camera is meant to be pretty bad, although I read that the latest firmware reduces this issue.

Interesting, thanks for info. I tried the sound only with the stock player and as much as I tried to turn off all the equalizers and stuff, I may have not succeeded. I will give it another shot, however, finding it in some retail store to try out will be a challenge here...

I need a spare phone and it's either this or the G3, both which are about the same price.  Battery life looks the same. The ZF2 dual SIM will be useful for travel but I'm not entirely sure about the camera.

Yeah, I pretty much need the dual-SIM capability, so basically I'm now thinking either about the ZenFone 2 or the HTC One m8 dual SIM. The HTC is more expensive, but should have better camera (and it's a HTC, not ASUS :D). However, I have heard that new firmware partially fixes the problems with ZF2's camera, don't know if it's true though.
Any dual-SIM alternative with good camera and of course sound quality would be great... It's a shame that f.e. Meizu MX4 Pro isn't dual-SIM.

According to GSM Arena, Z3+'s audio quality is not very good. Disappointing indeed, I was hoping it'd be good. It seems I'll just have to buy the next iPhone.
