Thanks! And any idea what is the value normal mode output on quad dac model? Did you have a chance to compare it yourself?I cannot find information on the European model. The US non-Quad DAC unit has 0.78 Vrms output acording to Phonearena.com which is higher than normal mode on the Quad DAC version. But it is unlikely the EU will allow this in.
I am completely anti Brexit, accept this. Backn

I measured the V20: Normal mode=0.44Vrms, External=0.98Vrms, High impedance= 1.8Vrms, from memory. Thanks! And any idea what is the value normal mode output on quad dac model? Did you have a chance to compare it yourself?
Interesting, person in video favors the Fiio, but not by much. That would be really interesting. I am thinking/planning on a new phone in the next couple of months.
And I just recently had a listening session with the X5iii. It got me thinking about moving the ipod, speaker docks and the Sony and maybe getting into a Fiio X5iii or possibly an X7ii next year. Just for home listening and the phone for on the move.

One advantage to the Fiio I suppose, is no concerns about proper gain, or having "hi-fi" mode enabled.

Just to be clear, it is the G6 that does not have quad DAC in North America, right? The V30 will be quad DAC equipped?

also, the h870ds is impossible to root at the moment, so i took it off of my shopping list.
So there is no Quad-DAC version that can be rooted?

So the V30 will be the quad DAC version for North America. This is good. But I will sure have to hear it to believe that it will stream MQA via Tidal. Perhaps it will, but I just feel LG will find a way to screw the pooch. Isn't Android limited to 16 bit? So how will that work with a 32 bit dac? I guess I am getting ahead of things. Need to give it time to sort out,

Android can also bypass their limitation and fully use 32-bit DAC depending on software team's competency. iBasso DX200 is also an android DAP and capable of native sampling rate. so if LG claim that MQA is supported then it should be fully native MQA decoded. Otherwise they will be sued as fraud advertise.

Is Android still 16 Bit ? Thought that was bypassed some versions ago ??
As far as a quick search shows, the first 64bit Android processors were running in 2014.

as far as i know, the h870ds (dual sim) and the g600 (korean market version) have the ess dac.So there is no Quad-DAC version that can be rooted?
h870ds can't be rooted at the moment. see the following xda threads:

i haven't found definitive information on the g600, though. i asked a question about the g600 here, maybe i'll get an answer from some g6 expert.

it would be better to pair SE846 with an amp with more current drive than the 9018q2c/9118/9218 family, eg opa1622/opa1612.Thanks for this. I have the SHure SE846, how do you think it would pair up with the LG phones? G6, or V20/30?
sadly, we don't have much choice these days.

no problem, @Nimpo . i'll also keep an eye on xda and report here if anything changes.
about v30, there you have an interview with an lg executive for a hungarian site (in english, with hungarian subs), and he's saying that the v30 will arrive to major european markets. also, he answers questions about g6, q-series, etc.

Do you know the max output current rating of opa1622 & 9218?it would be better to pair SE846 with an amp with more current drive than the 9018q2c/9118/9218 family, eg opa1622/opa1612.
