First, I'd like to state that I'm not a huge audiophile.
I'm looking to buy a nice pair of earbuds (not those noise cancellation in-earphones).
My price range is around $100, and I've been looking at the AKG K319.
Anyone have any thoughts on these earbuds or suggestions for other earbuds?

you can check out sennheiser mx880 for about $60
it has a warm sound with good bass
if you double your budget go for mx980
the best earbuds ive ever owned

Why don't you check out the Yuin PK 1/2/3? The PK2 is in your range, and the PK1 is pretty much the best earbud.

If you care much for sound quality or comfort, I strongly suggest opening to different types of headphones and earphones... In my experience earbuds are not known for sound quality or comfort. What happened that you do not like In-Ear earphones?

IEMs have always been uncomfortable to me... I'd much rather use full-sized closed headphones or simple earbuds on the go.
 
For your price range, I like the PK3s. The PK2s are also a feasible option. I have heard that the PK1s are underpowered by most portable sources - certainly they are by my iPhone. IMO (I have only had them for several days), the PK1s sound fine straight from the headphone jack, but scale accordingly when properly amped. If you only plan on using them on-the-go, their lesser siblings may be preferable.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, but like LWKING and violinvirtuoso said, the mx980's are out of my price range but I'll check out the other suggestions.

Bass is pretty important to me and the highest is probably $120-ish.

I don't hate in-ear earphones or anything, I just prefer earbuds because they are more comfortable to me. Plus, I don't really like the silicone tips. I've been checking out some foam tips; does anyone have any impressions about foam tips? In terms of comfort etc.

With a $120 max the OK2 is out of the question at $130. I'm not too familiar with the PK series of Yuin, but based on what I've seen they are slightly inferior. Basically OK3> PK3 and OK2> PK2. It comes down to preference with OK1 compared to PK1.
 
Anyways. With that budget I agree with 2rooli123 with the Sennheiser MX880. Also because Yuins tend to be light in the bass department at that level. You also save a bit of money. I wish I could tell you how the MX880 sounds compared to the OK2, but I only own the OK2.

Thanks, I'll be checking out the mx880's, though I'm not sure where I can buy them in Canada.
