If you are listening to electronic music I suggest Audio-Technica M50. Those are closed so but if you don't mind on ear open headphones than grados are the way to go.  SR 80i or SR 225i depending on how much you want to spend.

I picked up the AKG 451 on sale for $99. I was able to test them for a little bit and liked what I heard. They are portable, loud, offer good bass and good high and mids. My only complaint is the cord seems cheap, its not made to not tangle. If I decide to keep these, is it possible to buy a different cable somewhere else ?
