Best Media Player on a PC???

- Jriver media center for ripping CDs in secure mode (I found it comparable to EAC but so much easier to use)
- Jriver media center for audio playback with ASIO (less than 1% CPU when playing lossless compressed files)
- Jriver media center for downloading music to my T-mobile Dash (mp3), Iriver H120 (flac), and once in a while an Ipod
- Jriver Media Center for sharing my library to multiple clients in the house
- Jriver media center for Podcast downloads

- Theatertek for DVDs

Cheers

Thomas

I use Winamp with the ASIO output plugin. It sounds just as good as Foobar2K with KS or ASIO.

I use foobar/ASIO, which sounds superior to iTunes on a PC, but I prefer the SQ of Zoom Player Pro over them.

The Pro version is not free, but you can try it on 30-day free trial.

I liked it best for SQ, but I continue to use foobar b/c the Zoom player's UI and music library/playlist system was simply impossible to live with on a daily basis.

I figured out how to get the ASIO plugin in Winamp and it sounds great with the 1212. Thanks

Thats my setup exactly... I also install ffdshow and set it to handle all codec actions. I've tried other mediaplayers but for some odd reason I keep going back to WMP11, it interface just works for me.

I am shocked that people use iTunes. It distorts and destroys the audio! How can that be good?

Another vote for Jriver Media Center.

foobar for music
  1. easy to achieve bit-perfect
  2. supports TONS of formats without having to google for rare plugins
  3. starts up FAST (compared to itunes or winamp for example)
  4. low CPU usage cuz it's damn ugly... but FUNCTION > FORM

MPC for videos
  1. super fast startup
  2. barebone directshow compatible
  3. can customize greatly for advance users (like zoomplayer)
  4. +ffdshow, VSFilter, Haali Media Splitter, nVidia PureVideo = playback 99% of internet

I just got J. River Media Center, and it looks like I'll be giving up everything else because of it. It's the best media player I've used, out of iTunes, WMP, Winamp, MediaMonkey, and Foobar.
