I listen music usualy when i go to school, so isolation woud be nice,but not as important as quality.i mostly listen to death metal, rock, indie,Psychedelic, and SOMETIMES Brit-pop,i consider thes headphones: sony MDR- v900, Sennheiser eH-250, Sennheiser eH-350 and Grado SR-80. Any suggestion which ones are the best?any other headphones that are similar will do too. thanks!

for isolation the akg k81dj get recommended a lot. for rock grado sr60 and the ms1 also are worth a look.

If you lean more towards metal, then Grado SR-80......but for some of your other preferences might do better with the MS-1 (which is not as bright, fuller sound).

k501s need an amp and aren't as portable. Plus they're not appropriate for metal. Only other option might be in your ear buds (IEM). Grados are very open and leak.....IEMs are the best at isolating.

x2... the K501s lack of bass impact make it a snoozer of a can for rock and metal IMHO.

to the OP, you might want to consider an MDR-EX90 or a KSC75 if you need sometihng more portable.

Out out those phones I would choose the Grados BUT I would prefer the MS1.

SR-80, but yes, I would also highly recommend the MS-1s.

Pick a Grado of some sort - SR-60, SR-80, MS-1.

Also as has been mentioned, go for a pair of AKG K81DJs for closed rock phones, but be warned, they are hands down the most uncomfortable headphones I ever owned. YMMV. Pitty, because they sound so damn good for closed phones in that price range.
