BEST HEADPHONES FOR UNDER $100?

i'm surprised the ATH-A500 isn't on here. I haven't heard the K81DJ, but it would seem the ATH has a leg up in terms of comfort, and I'm pretty impressed with what they sound like for sub $100 cans. (disclaimer: i have only listened to them for a brief period of time using a friend's pair)

k501s need an amp and aren't as portable. Plus they're not appropriate for metal. Only other option might be in your ear buds (IEM). Grados are very open and leak.....IEMs are the best at isolating.



Sorry, I must respectfully and *most strongly* disagree. My K501 in my system is excellent for metal. Far, far better than my HD595 was.
