Their are several headphones I have being looking at (Grado SR60i/SR80i, Senn HD555, Grado MS1 and Audio technica AD-700) The ones I am most interested in are the Grado's so out of them which is better? Or are the Senn's or Audio Technica's better?

It's a matter of what music you listen to and whether you don't mind supra-aural (on-the-ear) headphones.

I listen to quite a lot of electronic stuff (Klaxons, Three Trapped Tigers, TEEJ, **** Buttons) quite a lot of rock/alt-rock (Cage The Elephant, Muse, Arctic Monkeys old stuff, Oasis, Blur, The Clash, Gorillaz) I very rarely listen to slow acoustic stuff.

First off, by the Grado Ms1, did you mean the Alessandro Ms1? If so, I would have to say these would fit the bill. I hear they are great for rock, and I am pretty sure they do good with electronic stuff (WARNING: BAD PUN AHEAD: because the headphones are electronic). So out of those I would think the Ms1 would do fine.

I did mean Alessandro Ms1 but from what I have being seeing on other forums is that the SR80i is a better headphone for rock and electronic. Do you have experience with both the headphones?

When I looked around the majority of people said the MS-1's were more balanced and were better for more 'relaxing' songs whereas the SR80i were more bassy and were better for rock, electronic etc.

Not sure if it is worth mentioning but I have a pair of Koss Portapro's and I really like their sound, I heard that Grado SR60i's are a 1-up from them.

I have finally decided it's between the Grado SR80i's and the Audio Technica AD700's. What d'ya all think?

Well I have the sr80i and love them! No experience with the AD700s but I can tell you you won't be disappointed with Grados (Unless you just need huge bass)

The difference is that the SR80i is more aggressive, but tends to be a bit grainy. The MS1i on the other hand still retains the mids emphasis and bite, but is dialed back a bit allowing more detail to be apparent. In your case, i'd for the SR80i - I think the AD700 lacks the edge needed to bring rock to life.

I was reccomended the SR125i for my music tastes (Tool, Coheed and Cambria, Soundgarden). I listen to primarily rock with acoustic thrown in here and there. Is there a big difference between the 80s and the 125s for the price?
