I will have to be from ebay to buy them since im in Canada and theres not much to pick from up here and what is there costs 3 times more.  I would prefer closed but open headphones are ok.  I listen to a lot of bass heavy music and like lots of bass in games too.

I was looking at the m50's but they were a little bit out of my price range at $130 plus custom tax.

Can you guys recomend my a good set for under 100 shipped?

i have a razer barracuda AC-1 as a sound card and to my knowlage its one of the best sound cards for its class,  it does do dolby virtual surround too.

I would never buy a TB product, i have no idea why but i just have a deep hate for them

still looking for some opinions

I may still be new to all of this but why don't you just use the headphones you use for music for gaming? Back when I had my Senn HD201's I used them for both and they were great.

I would not get the m50's for gaming, for music their great but to me they suck for gaming. If your not set on closed get ad-700's.

I actually prefer the M50 to the AD700 for gaming -- SQ only. It sounds quite amazing.

Comfort? AD700 is miles and miles ahead. Although some don't mind the M50's comfort.

is the 32 ohm AD700 any good?

AD700s are typically recommended as the perfect can to get into the Audiophile experience.

1) open design so it may be your first experience of a large soundstage and the "surround" sound that this provides.
2) not overbearing muddy bass that is typical to consumer headphones.
3) easy to power and do not need or require an amp.
4) pretty lax on the source.  Although they do demonstrate how source affects sound.
5) one of the best values right now for the price you pay.
