HD800S even after HE500.
HE500 after T1

Glad you said this, as after using he-500s for approx 5 years I've a pair of hd800s coming tomorrow (to compliment my he-500s)
I bought them blindly so I'm hoping I get on with them :)

I was in love with HE500 but HD800S ( v.hard for me to admit)was better in all areas, even on mids they sound more natural.
You bought HD800 OR S /

The newer S model. I resisted going for the hd800 (former model) since its release, as all complaints I read about strong peaks put me off - i'm highly sensitive to strong upper peaks.
I love my he-500s for everything but its not the clearest in the treble department. I tried a few different pads to clean up the treble slightly but they introduced listening fatigue. I was hoping to own a can that would do classical better than the he-500s. I have Oppo pm1's which do classical well, but they just lack 3d depth and all sounds appear to be at the same distance from me.

Oh man you gonna love them,in my opinion they do everything close to perfection even if they are still a little bit analytical,i drive them with SS class A amp wich are a little bit warmer but transparent.
IDK how they they gonna sound from mojo but i think it's gonna be ok.

Hello guys, write down your favorite headphone in any category,

1- Best allaround headphone. IMO (k550)
2- Best 'bass' headphone. IMO (Pro900)
3- Best headphone for noise-cancelling.
4- Best headphone for the budget.

1. Stax L700 (Samba is up there too...)
2. Grado GS1000i
3. Jomo Audio Samba (with comply tips, you can't hear anyone or anything)
4. Koss ksc75 ($15), Final Audio e2000 ($45), 1more triple driver ($99), hd6xx ($199), Stax L700 ($1400)

Other stuff I've heard, in no particular order:
- HD 800
- HD 800s
- HD 660s
- HD 650 (loved these most out of the sennheisers for tonality)
- HD 600
- Grado rs2e
- Grado ps500
- Grado sr325e
- Grado sr80e
- Hifiman he4xx
- Oppo Pm-3
- Monoprice m1060
- iSine 10 + cipher
- Koss porta pro

Honestly, I didn't like the tuning of the HD800 or HD800s, preferring the tonality of the HD650 instead.

Focal Utopia
Audeze el 8
Audeze Sine
Sony mdr-1A Good enough for the mo.

My excuse for the paltry list? I used to work in the music biz and have heard about 500 bands live. Got an opportunity to hear some current hotties in my local shop so this list could change sharply and soon.

1. Hifiman HE1000 V2
2. Fostex TH900 MK2
3. Sony WH-1000XM2
4. Audio-Technica ATH-M50X

The best I've heard in my system Hugo 2 -> Pro iCan w/ XBass+ on 1st setting -> Focal Utopia. The sound is unbelievable!

Best cans I've heard stax sr007 MK1 never heard 009 I live in the middle of nowhere.
For acoustic or vocals lamda sr404 original normal bias - wish I'd never sold them.

I use M1060s for casual listening very good for the price I'm considering doing the mods on them easily powered by mobile phones.
