Best dynamic driver IEMs?

GR09 is a warm (forward bass and smoother treble) compared to T8ieMK2. It does not have the sparkle that may give it an impression that it sound less resolving. I find it very sensitive to tips. Find one the works best for you. I don't like foam tips on GR09, makes it sound a bit dull.

Ahh i see. Thanks for your feedback, i do lately enjoy a more laidback soundsig tho. So i think the loss of resolutions not really gonna upset me. Any recommends on what tips or cable that fits for the gr09?

My GR09 (cheap) version just arrived a few days ago, after giving it a few hours, i am happy. For a single DD can do this much is pretty much surprising for me. Definitely recommended if you can get it around 150-200usd. Makes me more curious on how well other single dd IEMS mentioned in this thread can perform.

I don't have the experience like most of you in this thread but had the opportunity to spend hours listening to IEMs at e-earphones in Tokyo, and brought some Sony EX800ST and JVC HA-FD02 with me from that trip. Like @Stuff Jones said in the opening post, the macro and micro dynamics and the timbre of DD sounded in general more realistic and engaging to me than the BA IEMs.

Unfortunately I did not have a chance to listen to the EX1000 or the Xelentos, which I'd have loved to try, but among those I listened to, the JVC HA-FW10000 stood out for me as the most realistic IEMs I got to listen to.

e-earphone and other audio shops (even yodobashi) is like disneyland to Audiophiles. Whenever I'm in Japan I always bring something back home. Japan has a very good used/second hand market. I will be coming back in August and I'm going for an ex1000 hunt.

Question to this group - I have heard from a few sources about the JVC HA-FD01 and FD02 IEMs on the internet and in personal talks, and that with some modding, they are in the same league as the EX1000 and Xelentos among the TOTL DD.
I have bought and modded the FD02 and think it's excellent, but I am curious if any of you have given them a try.

I had many iems and i can really recommend the tanchjim oxygen in terms of price/soundquality ratio. I love them so much! I never had a iem that gives me the "open-back-headphone-feeling" like this.

To put that in context, what were the other IEMs you are comparing them with? The best you have owned?
I have heard them briefly and they did not stand out for me at that time. I was listening mainly to more expensive ones that day though...
What really stood out were the Sony IER-Z1R and the JVC HA-FW10000, maybe also the Campfire Solaris, and among the cheaper DD IEMs the EX800ST. That last one was the most “open back headphone feeling” IEM I heard, next to the Z1R that sounded like a mighty speaker set with sub woofer.

I compared the iems that i owned. Of course there are many better iems out there, that can beat the tanchjim oxygen with ease, no doubt. But in term of price/soundquality ratio i think it is hard to beat.

Anyone else here tried the Flare Audio Gold? I'm pretty impressed with the single berilium dd. Seems very balanced for a dd with the bass not too overpowering but still has a very musical presentation. Of course they just discontinued these with a newer version of their HD line, but same driver.

Don't discount the Acoustome IEM's. The HS1650CU ranked highly on crinicle's list as well. Bass extension to die for, clean mids and nice shimmer to the treble, and made in japan. And that is polar opposite to the bass bloated mess called the Vega.

In the $1-200 range, what are my better options for dd iems with less midrange suck out? Not a v shape tuning fan, but it seems the it01, tfz king pro, simgot en700 pro are all v ish

If you can accept low insulation the Sony EX800ST are tuned very flat and ranked very high in Crinacle's list.
I own them and like them for their neutral and very realistic sound with very good details, especially in the bass texture.
Excellent for acoustic jazz, but most of the time, esepcially for vocals and a smoother, more emotional presentation I prefer my modded JVC FD02.

Based on Crinacle's list and the frequency response the VSonic GR07 line should also be a good option.
Never heard them though.

Both IEMs are available on Amazon Japan.

Amongst those three the EN700 Pro would be your best choice by a fair margin. Other decent to outstanding options would be Tin T2, GR07, Whizzer A15 Pro, Toneking Nine Tails, Kanas Pro and Flares Pro.

Thanks, I really need the isolation (actually considered the Sony's long and hard) - I only use iems as subway commuting headphones and in other noisy environments

How is the oxygen?
