I'm looking for a all in one USB/DAC/Amp solution for my HE-500. So far as options I know of the o2+odac combo and NFB-15.32. I don't need the coax/optical,etc the NFB has and I heard mixed things about Audio GD. The o2+odac looks good. Anyone have any opinions or other suggestions?

After reading up on Audio-GD products I think I'm going to avoid them, what I do like about it is their power. I'm leaning on the O2+Odac to use with my HE-500. The O2 looks to be about half watt.. anyone got some experiences? thanks..

schiit asgard would have been better...

Have you done an A/B with asgard vs. something like the O2? The reason I ask is even though the HE-500 is on the lower end of sensitivity (89 db/mW) the O2 should be able to put out 600mw at 50 ohm impedance and that'll drive it quite loud with dynamic headroom to spare if you do the math..

I just wonder if the 'you need 1W or more power' in the HE-500 is more hype than reality.. the math just doesn't add up.

Hifiman has said themselves, if you ask them, recommends 1.5 watts.
