Yeah, about 32ohm is max that sounds good on it

Ok, so not so great with the Havis but it sounds pretty decent with my Vsonics

Yeah, havis sounded terrible on mine lol. Vsonic had a lil hiss bc they are so sensitive. My favorite iem on the is the 3.14 dr1.

Any further impressions of the S5? Right now I'm looking at this, the Idealist S243 and the AGPtEK A02 (an export model of the Ruizu X02) I'm obviously interested in opinions on SQ, but in the interface and battery life as well.

I was initially unimpressed with the sound, however recently paired it with an xduoo xq-10 amp and its sounding pretty good. Its got a bit of attack and clarity and decent bass. Quite enjoying I atm. The interface is pretty decent and easy to navigate. Lots of options. Haven't discovered a file limit yet .

The Jazz setting is awesome

yes, I agree, have recently flicked mine onto 'jazz', it is my fave eq on it. have now paired with my NX1 sounds even better than with the XQ-10. I think it is almost as detailed and airy as the xDuoo X2. initial disappointments vanquished. :)

It does sound great pair with an amp. For some reason it is under powered. Anything above 32ohm sounds junky lol.

Do you think the S2 with a good amp delivers a better sound than the X2?

I was going to buy the Fiio m3 but this one looks more (aesthetically) fun.

you mean S5 ?? i have been going back and forth this evening, and no i dont, the X2 does sound better , better soundstage and clarity with X2. .

the S5 is much more user friendly, much better UI and i havent discovered a file limitation yet and it has a bigger bass wallop, however despite this i find myself returning to the X2 despite its quirks.

what is a better deal, S5 for 35$ or the C1 for 25$? Or is there anything else better in this price range (not more than 40$ unless it is really so so so much better, up to 50$). Need something small enough to use for running. Probably going to use mp3 320 99% of the time.

I also plan on buying one amp to use with it later (or maybe, soon). I have a Backbeat Pro (I use the bluetooth when commuting, but I can use the cable when at work or home).

ps. And i dont want any Sansa, I had a clip+ that was very bad, never liked it, and it died out of nowhere (and I didnt even use it a lot).

It very much so depends on the earphones you plan to use with it. Anything that is above 32ohm or not sensitive will someone be like junk. But for example my sensitive earphones like shozy Cygnus sound awesome

are you talking about the S5, right? I use only low impedance earphones/headphones, and its ok for me to keep buying these.

Sensitivity is the most important part

I have headphones ifrogz mogul with the following characteristics:

Diver Unit: 50 mm
Impedance: 32 ohms
Sensitivity: 116 dB
Frequency Response: 10-30,000 Hz
Cord Length: 1.5 m
Plug: 3.5 mm

I do not know why, but the player should not "pull".

That sensitivity is really high. Meaning you need an amp
