Curse you Jahn, I only play cello as of right now but all your beautiful guitars make it very tempting for me to learn bass (same clef and some familiar fingerings though I dont really know notes by name) or just get a regular 6 string guitar because then I can learn the fingerings with clef.

My newest acquisition is probably gonna be a HD555 or HD485 or maybe something else.

Very interesting video Jahn!

Ah, thank you. And I wish you and your family a wonderful Christmas, and a happy holiday season!

Those would be the Verity Fidelio's. Awesome little floor standers, and can be tweaked up the ying yang, but the best thing about them is how well they play with acoustic resonators.

YOWZA now that's a Wall of Sound! I bet it sounds amazing!

I think I'll join you in a last minute end of the year Curse update, since my New Year's resolution is to slow down (note I didn't say stop) the guitar purchasing.

Post Count: 21,160. OK, finally had time to play and take some pics and all that good stuff. I'll do it a bit differently too and really take an inside look at it. Here's the rundown of my 1961 Fender Concert Amp with 1967 Jensen C10Q speakers. Had to give up a '79 Princeton Reverb and Eden Nemesis N12S bass amp for it, but one listen to it and you'll know why I did the deal (well, that and the wife likes the look and overall it's one less amp in the house to annoy her, plus you can use it as a bass amp too).

Here's the front, the tolex has a slight pinkish tinge to it, which again my wife liked:

And here's the back.

And a closeup of the "Fender Electric Instrument Co." tag:

Here's the fairly unmolested tube chart. I know the "A" makes it a different tube config than the earlier ones, but what's the "30" for?

Here's that "30" again, this time right on the knotty pine.

OK enough of the minutiae, time for the money shots. First shot, the speakers, which have numbers which show them to be from '67:

And the transformers, which date from 1961:

I like the look of this transformer, with "Fender" stamped on it and everything.

Folks say the wheat grille makes it a later Concert, so if this is the case the transformers may have been lying around for a few years before being used. Are they old enough to have been the same as the Tweed Bassman transformers? I heard early Concerts do share that trait. Well there you go, and it sounds soooooooooooo surflicious!
