The reason for [AK]Zip's XLR-1/4" cable arrived yesterday. Not only is it Cardas re-cabled, but it's...well actually it's obvious when you look at the pic.

as you can see I've chosen a pair of um2 iems and then it went budget/vintage with an out of production
monolith mp3 player - wolfson dac included,
xtra x1 amp - li-ion powered,
mini to mini canare 505 from high end casque
top sound performers are the um2
top performance bringer is the cable
top bang for the buck is the monolith and finally
top high tec component is the xtra x1 with its li ion battery, that was hard to find amongst all those amps with 9v blocks
must be top combo all together then

anybody with a monolith too out there?

Now, how come DigitalMind didn't post this significant upgrade of his in this most appropriate thread?

I must present it on his behalf {captions are his, lifted from his thread in "headphones"}:

I nominate DigitalMind for the
2007 Duggeh Golden Palm Award
for
Best Performance Art with an Alien Object
…or is it Best Alien Performing with an Art Object?

oh yeah, that's a curse unto itself! but like any good curse, it's plenty of fun along the way - until it pops and bingo, instant tinnitus!
frown.gif

btw Romanee I thought you'd appreciate this little twist on the curse - it looks like the Martin has vamoosed too and another lil geetar is on the way to replace it - my wife doesn't even recognize her V-day gift anymore! "which one is the one that i gave you that you traded that you traded that you...oh forget it just find one you like." i'm so ungrateful!
