For the past 2 years I have been listening to Dubstep and Drum & Bass. I have owned a pair of Sony EX-500LP earphones for 6 months, but today they have broke so I am looking for a replacement. I was happy with my 500's after the burn-in period; In a quiet environment and "Bass Booster" EQ selected on my iPod they were heavy on the bass, whilst remaining balanced in the mids and highs. My friend owns the V-Moda Bass frequency earphones, I tried them out and they sounded identical to mine.
 
So, I am now in search of similar IEMs; heavy on the bass, but having a good balance of mids and highs that aren't recessed or hidden behind the bass. My budget is £50 maximum and this is for a pair of portable earphones, not headphones. They will be used in conjunction with an iPod Touch as the source, and I will use them on the bus to and from College, so noise isolation is quite important. I'd like to add that I live in the UK and I can purchase from sites such as Play and Amazon.
 
Any recommendations?

Are there any bass heavy earphones for £50 or less?

The Meelec M6 comes to mind, if you don't mind over-the-ear style. Otherwise the M9 is another (cheaper) possibility.
I think the 61% off deal just passed but Meelec frequently has discounts and sales on their IEMs. Keep a lookout.

Hmmm, they look like a good pair with positive reviews, shame I missed the deal.

I've done a fair bit of research and I have found the following:
 
SoundMagic PL30
Goldring GX200
Sennheiser CX 380 Sport II
Meelectronics M6
 
Out of the suggested which would you recommend?

I have the PL30 and can tell you for sure that they are not bass heavy. They do sound good overall for the price though. Can't speak for the rest though.

Thanks for the feedback. From what I've read, people seem to be saying they are bassy earphones, but I'll avoid these if you're saying they're not.

For dubstep under £50 i'd say m6/m9, wait for the next sale on meelec.com and pick whichever is the best deal (unless over ear bothers you), or just buy the one you want now, they're still good deals. If you want an alternative the SM pl21 isn't bad but the meelec phones are better in pretty much everyway.

I've done some research on them and people seem to prefer the M6's over the M9's despite them both having the same drivers. I've never had over ear earphones so I wouldn't know if they bother me :S
 
I am set on the M6's I'll just wait around for a deal, if one doesn't pop up then I'm just going to get them from Amazon.
