Hey, I recently bought Beyerdynamics DT770 Pro 250 ohms and I thought that they lacked a bit of bass and volume.

So I decided to buy a Fiio E6 amplifier which made a great difference, but I still think they lack a bit of bass and volume.

It is going to be mainly a mobile use, and I don't want to exceed the money from the refund I am going to get from these cans. I am listening to mainly electronic, dubstep and rap !

Should I just get the 80 ohms version or the Sony XB500 ? So confused.

Help plz.

Headphones don't lack volume. The source you're using lacks the power required to make the Beyers sing. TheFiio E6 is a nice little amp but not nearly enough for 250ohm phones. You can either upgrade you're amp or get the 32 or 80ohm DT770s. They do have different characteristics than the 250s however. If you're really looking for basshead cans you'd probably be better served to look elsewhere IMHO.

In my opinion you should be getting different headphones first. Beyers are not generally considered bass heavy cans. If you do some research on here you will get lots of ideas on what are good basshead cans. There are plenty of members that are always searching for the best basshead headphones.

C&C BH or FiiO E12 would be good amps to drive the the 250 ohm DT770's, but you would probably be better off with the XB500's if your looking for lots of Bass, and you can keep your E6 or pick up a Digizoid ZO.

I agree with Trolldragon I have both and prefer my E12 with my DT770 250ohm premiums. But I also think you need different cans. Start here:http://www.head-fi.org/t/573826/the-basshead-club
