I see, well, the DT 1770 is a 250 ohm headphone, it needs more voltage than most portable amps can provide. Without enough, it will sound lifeless and thin

I have both the TH900mk2 and MDR-Z1R. I love the bass on both. The Fostex slams harder, but the Sonys have better overall sound. I also had the DT1770 and DT1990. I actually preferred the bass on the 1990s.

FiiO M17 is gonna be "good enough" I guess so you can taste what HE6seV2 is capable of.
For 449 USD these headphones are such an anomaly that even a DAP (albeit a powerful one) can justify it!
