That would be very very sad...

I paid + 80 euros to get the new V2. I hope I don't regret my choice. Those of you owning both versions, what's your opinion on this particular point of view? Do you perceive a decrease in build quality? Thank you.

Its just speculation ;) So, may be u r benefited. I will only be sad, if the so-called V2 was at the same price of V1. And from the sources its not. So even if, it has an improvement, I am okay with that, as my budget was only 200 and H6 V2, is out of question for a person like me!

Personally, I believe that perhaps Bang and Olufsen is trying not to make any recent gen. 1 owners unhappy with their purchase. I believe there IS a sonic difference, not just appearance. Almost every time there's a revision in sound, with every other headphone manufacturer, there's a slight name change or 2nd gen. Except Audeze apparently, but that's another story. But besides them, have you ever known anyone else to just make an appearance change and call it 2nd gen? Even Beats changed their sound in Solo 2, from what reviews say.

Have been following the recent posts and I was very interested to see that a new version is available since my H6 just arrived today. Was an unplanned buy for 200€ Online here in Germany.

Asked then a local dealer about the next gen
He investigated a bit and found the information or was told by BO that the new version will be sold in Germany once the first gen is sold out.
And he said that there will be improvements in sound as many have the impression that the sound was not "loud" enough with the first version.

Don't know nothing about the underlying technology change (and I am completely new to the topic) but I am considering swapping the two, depends on the price.

There have been also some changes on the Beoplay homepage. The H6 are reduced in price and from what I see the pictures are already changed to second gen. Can anybody confirm?

I've also bought recently the H6 v1, but what I found here and through the web made me believe that the v2 is worth to try, so I returned it back today to the shop and now I'm waiting till the next gen of H6 will be aviable in Bang & Olufsen store in Poland which probably take about the week as claimed by store. So after receiving them I'll try my best to check if there is really something more than only a visual change.

You hit the nail on the head. As already confirmed the V2 run more efficient therefore playback "louder" at the same volume as V1. This extra "loudness" may be what folks are perceiving as "better sound"....

Like I said, if you have a good amp to run the V1, then do not look back. If one is using the H6 through a smartphone then V2 makes more sense.

I'm off to Copenhagen on Monday and hope to try the H7, H8 and the new A1 Bluetooth speaker.

I don't have an amp and my primary source will be an iPhone/iPad for now so according to this logic a v2 would make more sense.
The only thing I am considering is the price difference and value for money:

H6 v1: 200/222 € + x€ for an Amp (really don't know what is needed and how much to add here but I assume 70-120€)

H7: 360€

So I think the H6 v2 will be somewhere in between, let's say 300-320€.
Difference on Amazon US between v2 and H7 is 50$.

Wouldn't it make more sense to go directly with the H7 before I buy H6 v2?
I will hopefully have a chance to test the H7 but from what I could read they are very satisfying.
Maybe somebody had a chance to compare all 3 versions?

H7 is wireless model

H6 is a cabled model

Two different models. We are talking about H6 in this thread and a version 1 and version 2.

The H7 sounds great both wired and wireless. You also wouldn't need an amp when wired. If you need the flexibility of both, H7 would be the one to go with. But if you plan to stay wired, no use spending extra money IMO.

I just got my H6 2nd gen delivered today from Amazon.com in the US. Granted, I'm not what you would call an audiophile, more of an audio enthusiast, so I apologize if my analysis isn't very technical. I've been a lurker on here for a while, but I HAD to make an account in regards to how amazing the sound quality of the H6 2nd Gen is. Volume is excellent, with the overall sound being very neutral. Highs and mids are deliciously clear, and bass response is impressive too. The bass response is actually quite similar to my Philips Fidelio X2, with maybe a slightly less amount of emphasis (The X2 is a more bassy, although open-back, headphone).  Regardless, it sounds very punchy and was more than perfect for me, I see no need for any amplification whatsoever. I had previously tried the H6 1st gen at an airport, and had found the sound to be quite weak. These 2nd gen headphones most definitely sound different to me now, but I'm not sure if the loud airport setting maybe drowned out the bass from the 1st gens a little bit. Regardless, 100% would recommend. I vastly prefer their sound to both the Sennheiser Momentum M2, which I extensively tried in store, as well as the V-Moda M100 (with XL pads) which is sitting beside me now in a bag to be returned to guitar center. Oh and also, comfort is spectacular, and both sound and fit are not at all fatiguing. I can't get enough of these things!

I kind of liked the V1's over the momentum 2.0 I tried in a store. To me, the momentum sounded really 'Thick' in mids and mid bass region without amping. But I achieve almost the same with amping. But, to me the Momentum not - so - airy at the high end. I was looking for a second headphone, and wanted to like the Momentum's but I think, I really struggle. People's ears are different, no offense to momentum lovers.

I am a Swede that's followed this thread for a couple of weeks since I ordered my own v2. I just want to pitch in and say that the best deal right now (if you can live with "natural" rather than black) is from Amazon France, where it costs €279 at present (the price has fluctuated between that and €380 over the last couple of months). I actually had it sent to the US (where I have family), which lowered the total price (including postage) to €248, and I had no problems with US customs. For some reason Amazon France often has great prices on headphones (this is the third one I've bought from them, the other ones were the Final Audio Design Pandora Hope IV for a total of €376, and a Beyerdynamic T1 for €638—those are not their prices today though).

I also bought the 1.3 meter FURUTECH ADL black cord from Amazon Japan for about $62=€56 including postage to the US, again a better price than any mentioned so far on this thread (and indeed right now it is even cheaper).

I have bought from various Amazons for years now (to get the best possible price), and it is easy and safe to use them. Except for Amazon Japan, they also remember your contact info across the different country stores, so you don't need to fill it out more than once as a rule.

Amazon Germany has the V1 in Black for 222 EUR since yesterday.

Did you not have to pay customs for importing that Furutech cable from Japan?
