I have owned my H6 for nearly a year now. I agree with a lot of the comments on the earlier posts, including that burning in did really make a difference. Out of the box they were shrill, 48 hours later they were warm and detailed.
I adore the sound of the headphones, listening to songs such as Weight of Love by the Black Keys is an encompassing and rich experience. The details and personal feel of the sound is definitely enjoyable. However, as soon as I use them for commuting on train and tube, all the pleasure is lost. Not really wanting to have an extra block and use an amp, I have to turn my iPhone 6 up to maximum with the EQ turned to Electronic in order to hear the bass, and this destroys the beautiful sound these headphones can deliver. In a quiet environment they are superb, but use while travelling and outside noise will destroy the low and subtle bass and the wide detailed warm sound these produce.
Another note is the cable is truly awful, the IOS remote works most of the time, but not always which is frustrating. The cable is cheap and stiff.
So, this means I have come to terms with needing another set of headphones, probably IEMs for my commute and daily use. But I just cannot bring myself to sell the H6, I love the sound, and will promise myself I will use them at home, in the quiet, with a book and cup of tea for a perfect experience (that I am sure my family will never allow to actually happen).
