Aune S17 pro

How does the Verum 1 play with the s17 pro?
Generally speaking I have fun that planars and high impedence DD cans work best with this amp, this amp is generally good with HP that have trebel peaks to smooth them out a bit, but it will not solve fundamental issues with cans like a HE400SE or a DT880 with some of their very pronounce peaks in the trebel, you'll still need to EQ that out if it still bothers you.

With cans that are overly thick and warm it migh prove to be too much of a good thing, specially with the 100ma mode engage, luckily if you find that that bothers you, just stick with the 50ma mode and some of the incesiveness to the sound might come back.

5.5 should be the latest.

Where does that information come from? And how is it relevant to end users, as you can't change the firmware, as far as I know?

This thread. Aune themselves said specifically that 5.5 is just for enhanced remote control functions.

No, you can't change firmware yourself and even with the Aune's support apparently. Anyway, it was just an answer to @nobela's question.

Thanks, did not see Aune post this here, and was wondering why it is relevant, which it seems it isn't when it can't be changed (which is a shame) 😑

selling my beloved Singxer SA1, i just ordered one unit from aliexpress hifigo store. although there are no comparisons at all with the mjolnir 3, no one does that so far i wonder why, something is telling me is the right choice for 699$. it goes with Gustard R26 and a Sabaj D5 (for fun) and Hifiman Arya V1 and Beyerdynamic T1 V1 .. :raised_hands:

I have strong and well-founded suspicions that Schiit devices are losing ground to other manufacturers and have lost much of their appeal in recent years.
For the most part, these are old models that have undergone only cosmetic changes.

I think they are out of the loop. China based manufacturers gave easier parts access. The Schiit modi still has the now ancient ESS ES9018

So, on Saturday I finally pulled the trigger and ordered my unit from mall.auneaudio.com. Feet and a thick power hose (it is not a cable for sure) are already received from aliexpress.... now it is a waiting game and constant refreshes of order status.

BTW, I was planning to buy Hifiman Arya Organic after the amp - nope. I've tried it last week and it has very sharp high-frequency nails that I cannot stand at all. I also tried Audeze (don't remember which one) and it seemed to be very similar in sound to my focal celestee (based on memory only, not side by side comparison). SO now I'm thinking of meze 109 or dan clark aeon 2. Are there any owners to tell how they are doing with Aune S17 pro? and how they compare to celestee/6xx/arya organic? :)

But Schiit has strong warranties and the Chinese amps, for the most part, don't go past a 12 month warranty.

I just bought a Very cheap Schiit amp, the Vali 3, for $149.00. and it comes with a TWO year warranty.

I would not pay more than a thousand dollars for an amp with 12 months or less warranty.

Not singling out Aune as I love my new AR5000's, but the Chinese manufacturers need to have more faith in their gear. At $100.00, $200.00, $300.00, components are treated as disposable, and that's fine, but when you start reaching towards $1,000.00 (my landed cost in Canada)...
