After having my Aune M2s for around a month at that point. I did happen to read that article, and was quite pleased with myself for reading into their website as well as descriptions/comparisons abroad and just trusting my instinct to get the best model offered. It certainly has left me quite satisfied and save for a few of the little wrinkles here and there look forward to keeping this player for years to come. Now when is that firmware update coming?!?! Im ready!

Cheers for the blue bomber!!

I started the whole DAP game with FiiO X3,X5,and DX90 those were good times and my preference went for FiiO for it's warmer and more bodied sound especially the original X3 coupled with E12. Yummy !
Then, moved on to get X3ii and relatively unknown Hidiz AP100 very musical and even warmer than FiiO.

One thing they all have in common that I was struggling with the way they sounded and messing with EQ constantly to get them to sound right but ended up miserably. The bass was always lacking depth, weight and punch and the sound stage was never open enough.

The M2S is perfect for me. I don't need EQ and portable amp is only an option not a must. It drives my full size headphones very reasonably and satisfyingly.

I do occasionally "re-master" a song or the entire album to make them sound even better for headphone listening ie. widening the sound stage, more depth to low ends and better definitions overall.

Cheers for the blue bomber.

How much better is the battery life using the line out ?

LO is basically similar to HO with maximized vol (non adjustable) so bat life would be pretty much the same.

Well explained, Skyfall. I feel the same about M2S.

I also would recommend putting screen brightness to the lowest setting it does help it to eek out just a little more. Additionally, I also lower the volume to 0 as I use LO and don't see the need to have volume up at all nor could I personally confirm the built in amp wasn't still active, though I could be wrong. My thinking was better to check off everything not being used, or that shouldn't be used to it's full capacity (in this example it's ONLY limited to the screen brightness).

Now that I think about it I have not plugged in to the HO while listening LO as well. Can anyone confirm if it's possible to listen to both HO/LO at the sametime?

I have come across a problem, I use a 128gb sdxc card (fat32)  when I put about 34.5gb on it but when it scans up to 26% on start up then stops but I'm missing  3.39gb or 22 folders? they are on the card but no show on the files beyond T in the A-Z?

Any solutions out there?

Could it be it has song/file limit ?
Can you counter the number of files/songs recognized ?
You copied mostly mp3 or flac ?

Yes

Is there any song number limitation that can be recognized through the m.sd card ?

So far I have 4096 songs and I'll let you know once it's close to 5000.

Have a great weekend

I am using San Disk 128GB SD card with great success so far. Did you try a different card ?

this happens to tme always. it only reads less than 50%.
im using 128gb too.
only mp3 and flac files.
the count on mine is more than 10,000 songs.
there are missing songs, some folders dont have files in it. :(

there is no 100% success rate on me.
sometimes it appears, sometimes theres no songs in it.
try reinserting the memory card from time to time.
