The scanning problems are over for me
dt880smile.png
simply creating a new folder on the empty card and place all the files in that. Maybe I should have done that in the first place but so now I'm happy with all files available. The battery life is not a problem for me and album art is for vinyl and cd's were it is at a size I can actually see it.

I agree with Skyfall. I too have the MS2 version and never had problems scanning or it reading all files in a folder. As for heat I can relate a small bit with it stacked with the B1. If playing a lot of high quality for extended periods (ie. hours) than it does get noticeably warm, not hot though.

really?
what brand of card are you using?
your firmware pls?
and also... will try it this time :)

to the B1 users pairing it with aune m2s...
how long is the battery life of the m2s if its in line out mode?

Also.
Finally im back to this group.
I sold my aune m2s for a month because i wanted to make use of my mojo which is collecting dust in my drawer. I bought a fiio x3ii in black and also a crystal coax to pair it with.

Yes. The sound quality is very good.
Its perfect almost perfect...

But compared to the aune, theres something missing... Maybe i missed much of that sweet midrange from the aune, also the layers of spaces and details presented by aune.

So i bought it back again,

I sold my MOJO because im in love with AUNE m2s more.

Any comparison between M2s and Shanling M5? Thanks!

I had both but not in the same time. So, I can only compare them by memory.

To my ears, they are not playing in the same league. Tested with Meze 99 Classics and Shure 1540, M5 is very (very) similar to my Cayin N5. I only felt the N5 being more powerful and with a more impactful low end...I returned the M5 few days after purchase. not worth 500$ in term of SQ (N5 sounding so similar for almost 200$ less)

But, Aune M2 is (way) above both in term of SQ, it compete against the Mojo, mids and bass are more textured, highs smoother and more detailed, soundstage way more extended than M5 and N5.

Very poor battery life, no USB DAC (even no USB transfer!!) and obsolete UI are major concerns with the M2. But to my ears and tastes, this is the best sounding DAP under 800$ available today. M5 is much more pleasant to use however with modern UI and screen.

I see, thanks for the feedback. I really value SQ above all, if I need to sacrifice those other UI features, why not. If I'm going to have an SQ that can match TOTL DAPs, at that price range, I'd love to have it since I have budget constraint. And I think it'll suit me since I don't really prefer stacking. :D

You really cannot go wrong, however, be advised as per skyfall and myself that more can be achieved with stacking to a dedicated amp. In the grand scheme of things it works out to probably 10% more you get out of the overall quality of playback, but its 10% you will hear the difference from the stand alone player and if you are able to follow skyfalls example with the amp he has suggested you will also have the benefit of balanced out. So there is that to consider! Good luck with your purchase either way.

By the way for those inquiring minds wanting to know. Its been a month since the 16th that my unit was sent from Ingenious Ingenuity in NY to china for repairs. I have not heard a word since I requested a status update on the 7th. Not necessarily worried but man........I do wish to be among my brothers in sonic bliss right about now. We'll see what the beginning of the week turns up for me in regards to the whereabouts and condition of my unit. When I get the cost of the repair I will pass it along here so everyone can get an idea on what it would take if your unit takes a dive onto the concrete like mine did. As it stands right now, from what Ingenious did relay a while back, they mentioned the pcb board being cracked (which from when I was still using it before I sent it off sounded unaffected) in addition to the wheel popping off.
Fingers crossed its not an arm and a leg. Perhaps even if it is maybe I can talk them down to just my leg :D

In this case I'm using Duet from Cypherlabs to take advantage of the balance output.
I found that using balance increases size, width and the depth by at least 20% than the single ended.
B1 on its highest settings competes with Duet on single ended but not on balance.

Glad you got your M2s back. How does it compare to mojo ?

Well the mids of the m2s is more magical to my ears thats why i sold the mojo and bought the m2s back :)
