Ever since I updated my firmware to 1.072 the player has become unresponsive every time I turn it off or charge it until I press the reset button. Could I please have access to the dat file it shipped with, I believe it's 1.065 as that was stable for me. Thanks in advance.

Hiya —I have two questions re: this great little player:

1. Is it at all possible that we'll see an update after which we'll be able to use the USB cable to load songs onto the SD card?
2. FYI the cut of the pleather case does not let most 4.4 terminations to be used with it, nor does it include an opening to access the microSD card — any chance you'll redesign them?

@Excession33 findings confirmed here. Following the latest firmware update, the unit becomes unreliable for simple tasks such as powering it on.

Removing the microSD card, starting the player without it, then turning it off, inserting the microSD card and turning it back on again solved it.

Without the aforementioned shenanigans, the player simple wouldn't start

I hope this might help others but this latest firmware clearly is unreliable.

@AuneAudio FYI.

P.S. There's also is a visual glitch with the "All Once" play mode on the playback screen — the background isn't the same as when other play modes are selected. This pre-dates the latest firmware update though.

Guys how would you compare the M1p to something like Gryphon, Gold Bar, IBasso DC Elite, Mojo 2?
What kind of presentation does it have- more forward and aggressive or rather laid back and smooth?
I could always pair it with the AK pa10 as the sandwich with the AK sp1000 is too heavy and thick to take it outside.

Cannot help you there I'm afraid but you can read my review of the M1p where I compared it with the Sony WM1AM2.

From memory, more laid back than A&K devices — from first hand experience, slightly more up front than the Sony WM1AM2.

I could always pair it with the AK pa10 as the sandwich with the AK sp1000 is too heavy and thick to take it outside.

Unless you're planning to pair it with difficult to drive headphones, I'd wager you're unlikely to use it with the PA10 as it's really, really good on its own.

You're welcome — a word of advice — unless you have the money to burn, carefully consider the limitations of the DAP, it sounds great but it isn't the easiest daily driver depending on your "workflow" / way of listening to music (e.g. I'd say that if you buy and load new songs more than every two weeks, it'll quickly annoy you — YMMV).

Also I will try to test the latest firmware update today to see if the issues are settled.

I don't know if anyone else is experiencing this, but I installed 1.074 from 1.07. Now every time a song finishes it starts scanning the card from scratch, nearly all of my listening is to whole albums contained in their own folder.

I am going back to 1.07 and staying there. If you could only making scanning on boot up optional it would at least bypass this issue, thanks.

Sorry for the problem... May we know what formats did you play? If it was MP3 or APE, you can try this 1.075 that fixed the bug. If not, please let us know what the formats were. Thanks!
