Aune M1P
May 13, 2023 at 3:42 AM Post #46 of 452
I renamed a few albums with 01. 02. 03. etc at the start but it didn’t work, still randomly chose tracks! A pity @AuneAudio didn’t chime in here or respond to my email. I really want to enjoy this DAP but this is very frustrating!

Another thing to be aware of is that it gets quite warm not only when playing, but even just powered on - I had stopped the music recently and it was fully charged, I went back to it a couple of hours later and it had lost maybe 30% of its charge, even though it wasn’t playing anything, and was still warm.

I’d urge serious caution to anyone considering buying, unless I’ve got a faulty unit or something.

Strange... 🫣

I've never had these issues with the m1s... 🤔

Too bad, yes.... 😔

One of my friends in France got his hands on it (bluetooth version). I would tell you...

Maybe I'm talking nonsense, but I've used many rare DAPS and with them I always had this problem. The thing is that the order of the songs was not in alphabetical order, but in the order in which they were recorded on the memory card. To fix that you have to sort the FAT table on the card. In the end, it boils down to running a program after copying new files to the card.
I don't know if this is the case with the Aune M1P, but it doesn't hurt to try.

Cheers, definitely worth a try and I will do so tonight!

@cqtek - brilliant, thank you - I'm on a Mac but found a similar free plus easy to use FAT Sorter, pointed it towards the microSD, asked it to arrange as 'files first' and popped it back in the player... voila, I've checked several random folder/albums and they all appear to be in the correct order. Much appreciated 👍

👏👏👏

Maybe I should have commented earlier, I've been following the thread for a few days and I didn't think it was for that reason, coming from Aune.
This behaviour is very common in the cheap or rare DAPS I have. And it's a pretty simple fix.

But I'm very glad it helped you.
Now, remember that every time you add new files you have to sort the FAT table again.

You can now enjoy M1P without restrictions. The truth is that I'm very interested in this kind of pure DAPS, without frills or artifices. I hope the sound is as good as the handling is simple.

It strikes me as something that might have been required with 'MP3 players' back in the day many years ago! Great to have it resolved though - I even bought an album on Bandcamp to celebrate, and made sure to sort again... playing now on the M1p and in the correct sequence.

Hey, sorry for the bad experience... and thanks for your love!:) About the browsing sequence, we have a new firmware. Please try this one: http://aune.hifidiy.net/aune_en/M1p/aune_m1p_1.061.zip Hope it helps!

And indeed the power consumption is not much less when it's not playing music, as it's still working. Please turn it off when you don't use it, or set the auto-poweroff.:)
