Aune M1P

@AuneAudio - I am sorry, for me the scanning is a big problem. In my case it renders the device useless.

I took the M1p to a trip for 30 days and was hoping to use it to play music for me. But now it does not play anything it anymore, at least most of the time.

I have a Samsung EVO SD card with 512 GB, almost full, exFAT. The M1p was playing fine with that until some days ago. Now when I start it, the "scanning SD card" appears, the progress goes to 10%, sometimes 20% or even 40% - then it stops, the logo shows up and then "No Device". And then the process repeats. Yesterday, suddenly, it went through and actually played. Until I switched it off. Now I cannot get it to play.

I checked the SD card with chkdsk on Windows. No problems were detected. I also did not add anything to the SD card. The problem just suddenly appeared. The device was in a case all the time.

I did not see any information why this scanning is actually required. With most devices it is possible to play simply from the directory structure. Why is it different here?

Without scanning you could solve the issue with overlong filenames, and also do alpha-nummerical sorting within directories. (simply convert consecutive decimal numbers into a character of the value 0..$FFFF when doing a compare) and support M3U playlists. This would make the effort worthwhile. You can also reduce the startup time to the few seconds advertised on the website.

I am still not home, I can post a video of the start-scanning process in 2 weeks, if this helps to find the issue.
I also have the same problem vith Samsung evo 512gb,but on Qls qa 361.Sometimes my dap shows me “No music”,but after replacing Sd card(sometimes it needs 2 or 3 times) it works.

@AuneAudio Any news on letting us create or play some playlists? M3U for example?
One more question. Can I charge the device while listening to music?
Hi, at the moment we don't have a plan for M3U:)
And it's not recommended to charge the M1p while listening to music.

Is it feasible to downgrade from fw. 1.078?

I have the firmware 1.078/0.1/0.0 and no problems since I switched from a Samsung SD card to a Kingston SD card (Kingston Canvas Select Plus microSD, SDCS2/512GB Class 10). Now it works. The device appears to have problems with some cards, maybe if they draw too much power during scanning files since the problems shows up really randomly.
Unlike one would expect, this device scanns all file names and puts them into a memory table at start up. Why? - I don't know. The concept has basically only disadvantages.

i'm also very happy with a 1.078
play-pause works with screen off and my sandisk 512g card also works without any issues.

it's definitely an interesting design choice to have the device fully power down, clearing out any persisting memory. When the device is off - it is off. the battery drain is pretty much zero. However this thing does sound 'better' to my ears than any other portable device i've tried.

Thank you very much for the link.
The first link does not have any FW. Was it removed by Aune?
Will I be able to come back to my previous firmware? Asking it just in case.
Hum, you should be able to download a zip file with the last FW :)
