Wow bro i hope u do get a pair to try out!

Actually the T800 was a bit hot in the treble and upper mids, and maybe treble sensitive people might have an issue with that, so might be a good tuning choice to come up with another set to tame this region.
T800 matching with sources was a bit tricky but a LPW2 on 3.5mm was really good. Tinkger h16 lower this treble peak and delivers more resolution at every part of the frequency spectrum. It is a bit more easier to drive than t800 and does scales up on qudelix questyle M15, fiio m11pro and fiio M15 as per my trials. Only tested on 3.5mm and did some tips rolling to find the best with JVC dots or final Type E for more textured bass. Overall when comparing A/B with dunu sa6 this one performs better in treble and bass area, medium quite on part , listening mostly metal. Good indicator is that I can ear it during several hours continuously since the last week (received it before last week end). Overall delivers way much details than T800 to me and scales up well with a good DAP, a bargain I purchased day 1 blindly. Only drawback is the use of QDC connector, package is quite cheap looking but the iem is a jewel soundwise speaking.

Yo, wazzup mate! Long time no see and you have very interesting and promising IEM in your hands or ears it seem:smiley:
cant wait to read more of your impressions!

so smoother T800 enh....did the bass hit as hard and fast too?

I did enjoy the AQ4 quite a lot...did it follow same tuning curve you think?

I am still quite pleased with the T800. I don't find it hot for my ears, but I also can't imagine pickup up more details, because the T800 with wide bore tips, and pure silver cable is a detail monster. If I need smoother, I just throw on one of three types of Ostrey filter tips (rather than changing the Knowles filters). Also, while the T800 isn't super sensitive, it is only 9 ohms, and I have never found it hard to drive at all (15 of 100 on volume control out of 3.5mm SE). At the same time, I don't find them to scale that much from a more powerful amp and/or 4.4mm balanced.

But I am intrigued and want to hear more about this new set?!

It's me !

It's a t800 with very very smooth high frequency, very linear!
Lost clarity but fuller sound because we can add more volume!
Tempting. Contemplating selling my cascade for this 😃

I did a thing ... 🤞

Thanks for taking one for the team! Look forward to your impressions!

Yeah T800 isn't hard to drive, but the low 9 ohm impedance makes it quite fussy with source pairing, based on the audiophile rules of eights (https://www.headphonesty.com/2019/0...erm 'rule of eighths, had with a greater range.)

So it needs a source with output impedance around 1 ohm or less, otherwise the FR will be skewed.

Ah good point!

I guess that sometimes I take that for granted, and don't really even think of it anymore because the only DAPs I use nowadays (or really any music sources) are the iBasso DX160 and iBasso DX300 in which both are really close to 0. And you ARE right! They are pretty picky about the source material also. This goes to my second point, which was that they are indeed detail monsters (for good OR bad) and are in no way forgiving of trash... :)

Speaking of the T800 there is a noticeable improvement (to my ears anyhow) from a tube amp if anyone is interested in knowing that.

yo ahah
I don't have time to be everywhere ! it's all

it's globally the same thing but with very tamed high frequency, more natural and more neutral. But it's good because i can put more volume so bass are more present and always incredible ! It's not the same buils and we lost the excellent isolation for more air in the ear, i don't have the pressure problem too

Too afraid to ask but has anyone tried T800 without filter, without mesh... ?

I believe someone on this thread has mentioned doing that after using the Knowles removable tool to remove the filter (before replacing it with a different one). You could try searching this thread for that?! As for me, I have not done so. I have not messed with the internal filter, but have added some filter tips when the mood called for a more mellow sound. :)
