Audio-Technica's New Multidriver IEMs: The ATH-IM Series

Ugh....now I'm starting to rethink my plan. If IM50 is flatter than the IM70(akin to Quadbeats) then I think I might prefer the sig more. I just don't want the bass to have the center of attention.

The mids are the center of attention in the IM70.

I'm so damn indecisive when it comes to IEMs because there is some much to learn from it. Also, it seems like the competition around this price-range is heating up, the TDK IE800s, RHA-750s, DUNU-900s, RE-400s, TDK BA200....but, Eric you seem to be insistent on the sound of the IM70s so I'll stick with my decision on this one.

The IM50 isn't even close to $100 in price, but I would say that it shoots way above the SE215 from what I heard.

I see $120.Close enough, for sure.

$54 + shipping. Site is legit, authorized, and plenty of us have bought our headphones from them. Sellers on eBay & Amazon tend to spike their costs. CDJapan's prices are more reflective of the actual prices in Japan.

What's the price at JM+? Which is more neutral, to your ears: the IM50 or the IM03?

Well, I think it depends on whether or not ATH TW allows people to discount, but right now, the uniform price everywhere is 1850 NT, but apparently while supplies last, you get an extra cable (red). I might run over and get one tonight after I finish up here, to replace my aging RE-262. I don't know, they're about equally (gently) colored, but in different ways. The IM50 is colored in a downward sloping fashion, while the IM03 is more U-shaped in coloration. I really think the IM50 will emerge as a surprise bang-for-buck IEM in the $50-60 category.
