I am really quite loving the AD1000X. Been listening to it for music and playing Heart of the Swarm :3

The sound is smooth and punchy, with what sounds like a slight emphasis in the upper vocal / lower treble range that gives everything a bit of punch, combined with the deep dig of the AD900X's bass - maybe moreso. I need to do a comparison with the AD900X and AD2000X badly :p

I know you liked the MA900 over the AD900X. How does the AD1000X compare to the MA900?

he said it was somewhere in the middle, but I think it was his early impression.

I still have the MA900 and while the mids are really clear and the bass is very good for an open can.
Yet I would never place it over ANY of my Audio Technica cans due to its harder or edgy treble.
I only have like 20hrs but not an excuse since the Audio Technica can I compare it to also had "low miles" (ws99) .. and it is pretty popular view that the Audio Technica cans always need to be burned in to sound their best.
Right now I have the es10 and another burning for 36hrs straight.

I loved how super light the MA900 were so I gave them to my mom :)

Nah I think the AD1000X is better than the MA900, though the soundstage isn't quite as natural as the MA900 (or the AD900X from memory). I think this is because the drivers are less angled.

I'm glad you think that. I was really turned off by the MA900 build quality and was on the fence with the AD900X since you preferred the MA900. As soon as I figure out the Tenso process, I'll be ordering the AD1000X. Really looking forward to one of your great video reviews.

My AD2000X is in the country. I'm hoping there's a delivery slip in my mailbox when I get home from work. Once I've had a chance to enjoy them for a week or two and compare them to the AD900 I'll lend them to a_r so he can do a review. But then he has to lend me the AD1000X so I can check em out.

Exciting! Did you get them? A good old swappola would be good. Actually I'm taking my AD1000X to a meet on Thursday though if you wanted to have a brief window with them.
