Audio-Technica updates CKR series: ATH-CKR100, ATH-CKR90, ATH-CKR70

It seems AT is total mess when it comes to which models are available in which markets.
They never made the IM-series available in Europe for whatever reason. Similar with the E-Series.
Although officially also available in Europe it is not very common to find,

Now I asked AT SEA when the CKR90/100 will be available in Singapore but they said that they do not know.
Therefore they still have truckloads of CKR 9/9Ltd/10 here at all stores.

I am able to find the CKR-9s for way less than the CKR-90s. Are the CKR-90s even worth the larger price tag or am I better off just getting the CKR-9?

I remember reading that there's barely an upgrade a sound if any so I think the CKR9 would be great enough.

My mistake. It's actually the CKR-10s that I was able to find for cheaper. Which is even more of a reason for me to go with the 10s.

Though I like the ATH-CKR10 more than the CKR9, the higher number doesn't mean "better" if that's what you were getting at. They have somewhat similar signatures and one might lean to one over another.

Also, make sure the seller you're getting it from is a reputable reseller. There's been fakes going around.

Yeah I learned the hard way after getting hit by a fake Sennheiser IE 800. It wasn't like it was a deal that was way too good to be true but after realizing that $160 is still too good for a "manufacturer refurbished" one I wised up real fast. I underestimated just how crafty the Chinese are.

I have tried both and i went with the CKR9 because they sounded crisper and more detailed. The CKR10s are too warm for me.

Hahaha yeah, tons of "refurbished" IE800 and CKR9/9LTD/10 floating around for too good of a price, I won't even dare to go close to one unless I handle them on my hand and listen to them using my own ears first.

I'm currently in Japan at e-earphone. I'm listening to the CKR100 and I'm in love!

Using the flat EQ (which I NEVER do) on my Plenue D, they sound fantastic! Better than my current CKR10. The bass, the soundstage, everything I like sounds better and fuller.

But that price though, ouch... Maybe if I can find a good deal?

As an owner of both ckr100 and ckr10, I have found that ckr10 is better than ckr100.
I feel very disappointed

Really? What didn't you like about the new CKR100? What's better on the CKR10?

I just tried the CKR70 but preferred the sound of the ATH-E40. Don't like the fit of either due to humongously large housings for push-pull drivers....

Where did you try?? Did they have the new CKR50 there. I think that one might be a good little phone or have a good driver with mod potential anyhow.

Not surprising that you like E40 better as only the E40 has dual drivers. CKR70 is just a single driver.

Tried it at Stereo. Oh, I thought have dual drivers? Not sure about the 50 but they told be the 70 just arrived a few days ago so I thought no harm done trying :) For the money I would go for the IM02 though.

70 has single dynamic driver, 90 and 100 have push-pull dual dynamic drivers.

I will be going to Stereo too to try out the CKR90 and 100. Did you try the 90 and 100?

No, I didn't as I was in a rush. Don't you have a FitEar already? Hahaha. I'm thinking whether to stay with IEMs or go for headphones. Generally which gives a better sound-to-price ratio?
