I was considering getting some new headphones for games/trance.

It turns out I like my HD650 much more than my DT770, so I figured I'd try the AT headphones.

I remembered there's some popular AT headphones for trance. but I can't remember the name! They were blue I think! Does anyone know?

Do you mean the A700? They appear bright blue in pictures but are more of a dark navy in real life.

I'd say I prefer my AD700s for trance, the airy quality and somewhat bright sound signature plays well for the genre. Some people find it lacking in bass though.

Oh, and those blue ones you mentioned are most likely the A700s.

I like my AD700's for trance as well.

I think my DT880's have spoiled me, however.
the AD700's now seem really grainy

I enjoyed trance with the ad2000, but I enjoyed it even more with my yh100 and k340
yh100 is just as fast with better bass impact and smaller soundstage, mids are great on both phones
k340 has bigger soundstage but less bass extension and bass impact/speed

the dt880's were boring and generally unlistenable. I haven't heard the 600ohm yet tho

Audio Technica for Trance?  Absolutely.  I use both my ATH-M50s (home) and ATH-FC700A (mobile) for trance.  I love them.
