can the audio technica FC700a's compare with M50's? I love my M50's, but they aren't the most portable cans around so I'm looking for alternatives

suggestions for any other portable headphones that are comparable are welcome too!
 
just a bit of info, in taiwan this summer, I tried the Audio-Technica ATH-ON300 (I'm pretty sure that's the model, unless AT makes anything else with the same wire thin headband) anywho, the sound was less than pleasing to my ears, IMO, I thought they were muddy, and lacked bass (compared to my M50's)
