I just found out myself using a multimeter - the 'sleeve' i.e. the main metal section of the termination is negative, while the 'tip', or the small section inside the nozzle of the A2DC is positive.
Got WP900 for awhile now.Just got my WP900, listening as I type. Magnificent.
I found that they respond decently to EQ, more so in the lows and highs. But, I could never bring the mids up to levels that satisfied me. As for the source - Good question. I probably wouldn't go with an overly warm source, definitely wouldn't use a bright source or a lean source. Neutral was the best fit for me. Not sure what it might be, but if there's something that favors the mids, that would be worth a try.Any more insights? Also what sources fit better for this cans? Tried eq to make it more neutral?
You have plenty of sources to play around with. That will make it fun.Ah, cheers.
I'm to receive them in around a month or so, which is when the dealer gets them form AT, here in EU they're about to be released, I wonder if there are differences with the last year model, or if that was a test to see if a release in europe would be a good idea for AT.
Weapons of choice: I have an ar-m2 (powerful and smooth probs warm dap, 3.5); e1da 9038s (sabre dac/amp, powerful and clean, 2.5) and a meizu dongle, enough for many situations. The last 2 via Audirvana in a pc. It's mostly for office and working at home, but needed something portable and lightweight. Had a schiit modi/magni 3 stack but not with me atm.
Thanks for the info!
I’m in the UK too and managed to pick some up directly from AT’s online storeAh, cheers.

It really depends what you are looking for. Unless you want a headphone with less bass, wider soundstage and better isolation the 9200 is better in every way. The main problem with the WP900 is the lack of sub bass punch, midrange and detail. For the price it’s detail is ok but compared to the 9200 or other 1K headphones It is really lacking. I ended selling my WP900 because it really doesn’t excel at anything except looks and it has adequate mid bass punch. Another option if you are looking for a good wood closed back it the Denon 5200. It sounds terrific and is more balanced than the 9200 if you like balance it just lacks the dynamics and detail of the 9200.Is the Denon AHD9200 alot better overall than the Audiotechnica ATH AP900 that its worth more than double the price or should I just go with AP900? Looking for an easy to drive closed wooden headphone. Considered the Meze 99 Classics but Im coming from an Audiotechnica ATH AP2000TI, Denon AHD 600, Beyer T5p 2nd gen, and Sony MDR Z7, so I was womdering where either the AHD 9200 or WP900 would fall in that bunch.
WP-900 has enough bass emphasis that I don't find it lacking in subbass in any way whatsoever. YMMV. Treble is the achilles heel here, you have to be okay with some noticeable treble emphasis, and the vocal recession that comes from a obviously v-shaped signature. It really depends what you are looking for. It needs at least MOJO power for portable.Bought a pair off ebay and to be honest, powered off a lg g8x and they sound underwhelming. Unnergetic performance compared to the sennheiser hd25 II.. I suppose its better at detail retrieval but a bit like listening in a outdoor concert. Beautiful wood though lol
