I've taken some measurements of the pads on the ATH-WP900 -

Thank you to both you and @F700 for your help in this matter — unfortunately too small for me…

I wish manufacturers would list these — less changes / returns / negative reviews due to confort issues…

I blame you guys! :o2smile:

The sound signature, weight and size make these a nice pair of portable closed backs!

I'm looking at some Geekria hardshell cases right now. The WP900s are so light, I'm scared of using the cloth bag and having them break. :)

FWIW, I bought this case; if you're only looking for something to use at home (it's not a super hard case that I'd personally want to take on the road with me), it does fit nicely with the WP900. The inner little case that comes with it is pretty useless (for me anyway). I use a drawstring bag to house my aftermarket cable, and I have two desiccant packs in the case to ward off moisture.

I hear you. I'm using an Audeze Sine case for mine.

Can anyone say how the WP900's compare with the Denon AH-D5200's ?
5200 is a fuller more dense sounding headphone with bigger thicker and wider sound. It has a flatter tonality. WP900 ssounds a little faster and has more impact in the mid bass. The 5200 is a great all arounder the wp900 is great for pop and modern music.

I think you'll find that they're an excellent home/desktop pair of cans as well!
Can anyone compare the Wp900 to the Focal Radiance specifically in the bass - which one has more mid bass impact?
The WP900 has more mid bass emphasis, but the Radiance has more visceral impact.

Interesting. Thanks. Is there a headphone with more visceral impact than the Radiance?

For me, out of my headphones the HEDDphones with Air Motion Transformer (AMT) are ruthless once they’re broken in!

Not much rumble, but the punch/slap is strong and the drivers are very very fast and move a lot of air. It’s the most visceral headphones that I’ve tried. :)

thanks again. What about for a closed back?

You’re most welcome! I’m not that experienced with closed backs, but there are other threads such as hard hitting bass and the closed back thread that would give you more info. :)

For me, both Veritie Closed and the Campfire Cascades could hit hard, but I think the Cascades are more visceral.

Just joined the WP900 Club. Pretty impressed by the WP900 so far. They complement my T5 3rd gen and Shure 1540 pretty well. They sound amazing out of Kann Alpha.
I use salsa songs to check for separation ,tonality and depth/width of soundstage and they are all very very good. Long night ahead :)

How would you compare it to the others you have? These 3 are all in my score for a single set of phones to own.
