wonder what is the difference between cks99 and cks1000? besides the obvious cabling, and also the notion of using aluminium in cks1000...
I think Sony XB looks better.
meaning..?
I would say he means the XBs are known for big bass, but aren't known for tight bass. I'm still looking for tight and big.
Exactly what I mean. The Audio-Technicas have bass that doesn't linger unlike the Sonys XB500/700 that I've tried.
well, they say that new xb series are better in regards to bass so... would be interesting to see how the cks99 compare to xb90ex
I don't know. I've never found myself overly impressed with Sony headphones. In addition, the new Sony XB look like On-Ear Earpad headphones while the Audio-Technicas look Over-Ear. From a comfort alone standpoint the Audio-Technicas look better. Sony makes good phones, like the MDR-7509 and other monitiors, but alot of models, like their earbuds can be hit and miss.
Sony seems a whole lot hit and miss in the last decade or so since their fall from prominence in the 90s and 80s.
I don't own Sony PCs, Sony TVs, or any other product except for their Playstation 3 and even that seems like a questionable choice looking back at it compared to the legacy of the Playstation 1 and 2.
My first and only Sony CD Walkman, that I still own to this day, was amazing back in the 90s, but I just feel the corporation is falling apart including their headphone division.
When I look at Sony headphones, I don't know what I'll be getting. Audio-Technica, Beyerdynamic and Sennheiser seem to have a better track record if you ask me.
Sony seem like Grado and Shure to me - companies past their prime that haven't kept up and are resistant to change.
