So far there only some text and a screensaver to download. As far as I can tell it says that the anniversary products will be announced on this webpage but my Japanese isn't very good. Can someone translate?

If I remember correctly, the W2002 (the 40th anniversary headphone) was released at the end of 2001. I'm guessing that the product announcement will be some time in the summer and then the actual release in November.

Ah, damn.
I just hope it will be a relatively cheap model then, (sub $500) and not an all-out new flagship.
Most likely it'll be another limited edition, and I just know I'd regret it if I didn't buy it when it was available and end up paying some inflated "vintage headphone" price years later.

Interesting, can't wait to see the final product. I know it won't be cheap probably within the same price range as the W2002 or L3000. I wonder if they will make a matching amp for this 50th anniversary cans like they did for the W2002 and L3000.
