looks like one of their preamps, like ST-7 or C-39. Audio-GD often uses the same case for a lot of models, so hard to tell from outside.

Digital interface for me as well. I've only compared it to the USB input of my NFB-2 and it is slightly better with DI

I'm getting good results with the same inexpensive ($77 with free shipping from a Hong Kong eBay vendor) Teralink X2 that I used with my Maverick D1 before getting the NFB-3/DIR9001:

I'd like to get a DI, but I'd also like to get a C-2.1 and a vacation, but none of them are on the financial horizon.

Looks like the old P2 preamp which was discontinued.....

Is there a way to set the digital filter setting of WM8741s in NFB-3 to minimum phase apodizing filter (#4)? What is the factory default for the digital filtering ? Is it linear phase "soft knee"? Anybody know?
