Has anyone ever compared the Questyle CMA800i and M11?
 
I currently have a DAC-19 Anniversary Edition and love the sound with my Decware amp.
 
But, I'm looking to upgrade with a very a good preamp section to put in front of a power amp with balanced out.

Is Singxer not fed by USB? What source are you planning to feed the SU-1?

Yes its fed from a SOTM SMS-200 streamer

Unlikely. My V2 card is close to 4 years I believe. Can't remember when I got it. Early 2013 if memory serves me right. Probably died of old age

I ended up ordering a DI-U8 since they are upgraded to the XU208 now and AGD is running the 5% New Year's discount.  Maybe I will get the chance to compare to a singxer SU-1 at a meet soon.  Has anyone compared the RJ45 I2S to the HDMI I2S specifically?  I ordered the replacement HDMI input model, is it worth swapping out the RJ45 for?

I don't think just upgrading the chip to XU208 is going to make much of a difference. The clocks that they are using are subpar and there is no galvanic isolation compared to the SU1. The power supply is definitely better, but that's probably not as important as those other areas.

Maybe I'll have to order a SU-1 as well to compare ... and so it begins.

Sorry i did not see your post before.

The firmware is downloaded and installed by audio-gd, using teamviewer 11 (a software with which you give control of you pc to a guest). I did not get the firmware myself, as far as i know, no one got a copy of it. You have to get the quartus programmer, see the master-7 thread, there is a link posted to that. You don't need the whole quartus software, just the programmer, otherwise, it is quite a huge file to download. You also need a piece of hardware called the usb blaster to do the programming. See the M7 thead on headfi from 4-8 weeks ago, all the info is there. You need to take an appointment with audio-gd and be all set. See also:

So i have a question for all you knowledgeable people out there, I got a used NOS 11 and want to try the different modes, but i dont have any jumpers. this should be a really easy order on amazon if i knew exactly what to search for. can anyone help me out?

I Found it odd that It shipped with all jumpers removed. maybe the settings dont work because this was a master 11 and was upgraded at factory?
