Check out norne audio for hd800 cable, their draug v2 is very highly regarded, I'm considering getting one myself.

Interersting.

Is the original Sennheiser balanced cable worth looking at? I'm fairly new to the balanced world, heh.

The +6dB gain also apply to signal noise. The HD800 and TH900 do not need the additional volumn so you can enjoy a darker background without the gain mod.

I asked Kingwa if I needed the extra 6db configuration for use with my hd800's. He said it was unnecessary. About 60 out of 100 is how loud i can take it.

Neither the HD800 or TH900 need anything above unity gain so 16dB gain is already more than enough. As defbear said 60/100 is loud,  60/100 is 5% power output.

I have +6dB and 65/100 is where I would stop.  Yesterday I had to go to 75-80 because I was playing a movie through the Out of Your Head sound virtualizer,  it's good to have the headroom.  Haven't open up my M11 to double check for sure if I have +6dB, I trust Kingwa.

*edit* 65/100 is using hd800 with 1/4" single ended output, around 40-45 with xlr.

Well. I believe Master 11 is actually not the same as M7 or M9 in terms of DAC or AMP. M11 just has 4 built in PCM 1704uk while M7 has 8 of those chips. There are, however I have no idea which combo is BETTER. They might be close. I even believe M11 would be better. But for those who have M7 and M9, they have a chance to change the analog interconnects for a better tune balance.

Well executed integrated will wipe the floor with separates, the voltage based XLR cable transmission method sucks. It should really be current based and that is how well designed integrated transmit the signal internally.

Two 17x17 boxes don't fit into one.  The M9/M7 is better, whether you can hear the difference is the question.  The big difference between the combos is power supply and what is onboard versus an expansion card.  Ex the M9 the relays are mounted to the main board.  On the M11 it is a separate card connected via cables.

The only part of the unit that isn't "dac" is the diamond buffer.  More than likely the "dac" output isn't fed by it so it's not in the circuit when not used as an amp.  I.e. no need for another switch labeled HP/PRE.

Just need some clarification for payments. What is the preferred payment method through Paypal to avoid those pesky Paypal fees?

And since Audio-gd is outside Canada/U.S., is the fee a lot more?

Ask audio-gd to give you a quote, then you'll know. You can ask them regarding other payment methods, but I think PayPal is the easiest. I for once don't think PayPal fee is bad, I mean they got to stay in business some how right? This hobby benefits a lot by having easy payment method like PayPal.

Fee is the same for PayPal. If you have some USD lying around, do a wire transfer instead, you will save the conversion (tanking CAD and all..), the fee comes out as lesser too.

3.7% paypal fee and 0.6USD handling fee.

That's what were added to total cost I"ve paid for my 2 purchases from them.

I was thinking of getting this but I do want to ask if this is ok to use with IEMs? I have full sized headphones but I do wonder if the CIEMs would be okay to use? I am also wondering if anyone has done a shootout between this and the Ragnarok/Yggdrasil? I just really wanna know the difference though the price difference is pretty high too.

Thanks.

P.S. If anyone has paired this with the LCD-X and Ether, I'd love to hear your thoughts!
