As much as I want my Penrose to arrive, I don't want to be from this "Rush" first batch. I prefer to wait and get it done properly.

I ordered both versions on July 15th and have not received any tracking info for the Penrose one yet. Either they are not giving priority based on order date or worse they are waiting to ship both together whenever the Xbox version is ready to go. However, they have shipped items separately for me in the past when one was not in stock. At least the Mobius still works via USB with PS5 while waiting for Penrose, look forward to ditching the cable though.
If you have ordered both, we will ship them separately. PS version will ship in the next few days.

How is the Mobius and 3D audio with Tempest working out for you?

I have the Arctis 7P right now and these sound terrible even with tempest lol.

Mobius is the only “Gaming Headset” that I have owned so I cannot really compare it to others sound quality wise. The only PS5 games I have played are Astro's Playroom and COD Cold War multiplayer, I have been trying to get through Spiderman PS4 so I can start Miles Morales. But so far, I have not had that barbershop like binaural audio experience yet with Tempest 3D, I have tried switching between several of the 3d profiles and almost feel like I’m somewhere between two of them.

Unfortunately, Tempest 3D Tech is going to be very subjective person to person and the five profiles they have provided might not work for everyone. Mark Cerny did say this is going to be something that will progress with time and they will be making more profiles and ways of determining the best one for someone. I think it’s a lot better with COD Cold War vs Modern Warfare, I can definitely tell the audio direction of say footsteps quite well with Mobius on Cold War, but its not that true immersive binaural audio experience yet for me. But it’s still too early to be certain on it, I need to play more games that support it to really tell.

I have an early production Indiegogo Mobius and have had zero problems with it, still works great years later. If anything these early Penrose units are more likely to have far less QC issues as they are being updated and tested at Audeze's facility in the US in addition to whatever QC process they have in place at the factory in China. I wouldn't worry about it.

Also had an early indigogo version. Sold after a couple months. I hope Penrose will give a better UX.

You sold it because of the UX? Could you explain a bit more?
The way the switches and configuration worked was really annoying to me at the time. For example, the turning on and off process was too long and every time it turned off and on the 3D audio would turn back on as default. So I needed to cycle the 3D modes all the way to off every single time I turned the Headphone on. I'm not sure if they made it easier later on.

that also annoyed the heck out of me on my mobius, that and the latency issues with bt audio while gaming and the inability to use stereo along with mic on Bluetooth for windows

We have updated the Mobius firmware to address many of the issues. Some of those improvements are also reflected in Penrose.
One of the good things about active headphones like Mobius and Penrose is, we can improve the experience over time with firmware updates etc.

For example in Mobius we changed
1. EQ modes to have more Bass (Warm Profile)
2. Saving modes and preferences. When we initially designed the Mobius, we thought users will primarily use it 3D mode and the 2 Channel solution was just for Mobile use.
3. Adding 3D with No headtracking mode.
4. Microphone volume setting.

In Penrose we took a lot of feedback that came from Mobius and also based on how people used Mobius.
1. Headphone UI is simplified. Some of the settings like EQ changes, Side-tone on/off have been moved to App. There is no complex button combinations.
2. Microphone quality
3. User customizable EQ - This was the single most requested feature on Mobius. The feedback we got was, people was to change the EQ and save it, but do not want to keep changing it. Infact only very few percentage of people changed the EQ on Mobius. The app should allow users to change and save the EQ.
4. Start/shutdown times have been reduced.

Do you have an eq profile that makes the Penrose sound like the Mobius Default setting? I mean there’s a reason no one really changes to another eq!

Yes. The default Penrose sound is quite close. We probably can refine it further in future based on feedback.
