Anyone connect to a macbook and have it lock up the mac after a while playing music? Could be flaky 3D driver support on the Mac
Was just playing Spotify and the auto-3D mode sounds surprisingly good for making spotify sound more spacious (yes, I know, it's fake). Has significantly more base than Sennheiser 590's that are known to be bass light; bass doesn't go as low as I expected from other's reports. Vocals are more recessed than Shure 846 IEMs but I think the Shure vocals sound better. Turning your head and having it seem like speakers on a headphone is weird to me with music...still have to try it w/ gaming, etc.
Warning for folks connecting it up to the Mac for the first time...no idea why but the Mac decides to set volume to max initially...that hurt
I thought Mobius had it's own built in volume/amp, but it just controls the Mac's volume setting. Be sure to crank the volume down after telling the Mac to use the Mobius instead of the internal speakers.
I'll have to try it w/ my Windows machine in a bit.
Clamping force is tighter than I'd like (more than the Sennheiser 590 but not as crazy as the Monoprice 1060C). Weight is not bad (unlike the ridiculously heavy 1060C's that I returned)...heavier than the Sennheisers but not by much. Not as much treble as the 1060Cs but vocals definitely sound better (and more balanced) than the Sennheiser. Does make my ears warm because I prefer velour earpads though I can see why you need the tighter seal for bass.
No hiss that I can detect yet...will report back later if I do.
and for folks wondering about tracking #s. I got *zero* notices in my email and checked the spam folder. I didn't complain though so maybe that's why I got mine so quickly
Anyways, they are arriving...just be a bit patient. I'm in MA in the US if that matters (don't think it does).
p.s., carrying case is nice too. Thought it'd be a waste of space so I'm pleasantly surprised.
