Audeze LCD-X

How do the LCD-X and Arya compare for trebles and mids? I currently have some closed-back ZMF Eikons and I find the trebles too rolled off for my liking (ie not bright enough), altough I like the bass and mids. I tried Focal Clears and found them too bright and fatiguing, especially on less well recorded music.
The X is a bit more forward with clean mids, and good imaging. Arya's vocals/mids are bit warmer and sweeter, also airier. I don't mind the Audeze dip in the upper mids as it is not bothering with my music. I know, some people don't like it. Arya doesn't have that dip. Treble on the Arya again is airy and a bit soft but still detailed. Treble on the X is more dynamic and lively. The Clear's treble was too bright and fatiguing to me too. While the X has a more prominent and brighter treble than the LCD 2/2C/3, I have never found it fatiguing. The X is definitely the most energetic sounding LCD. But still an LCD.

The Arya is known to be a bit hot in the upper registers. Add to that the better bass & build quality and the X wins out IMHO.

I was expecting hot treble on the Arya as well, but to my surprise it is quite a warm and relaxed sounding headphone. Nothing like the treble on the HE-1000V2. That said, I personally didn't find the Arya that special. To me the X is more special with its bass performance and dynamism.

My pair of LCD-X's is finally getting some hours on them, and man oh man I can't get enough of this bass response... If anyone here is into electronic music I'd highly recommend playing some Haywyre on their X's and sit back and smile. The speed, resolution, impact, and depth of the bass on these with his music is awesome. I'm still getting surprised by the extension and punch of the bass of these for an open back can.

I just picked an EL ll stack and it really has a more full sound than my 887. I really think THX has its place but with the X's you can do so much better with technically a lesser amp. You are probably going to love your upgrade.
I can vouch for the synergy between JDS Labs and the X. It sounds excellent. I have the original Element, and it serves as my computer DAC/amp.

It's so interesting how a swap between amps affects the sound so much. I tried them on my magni 3 and they could not be used for listening to YouTube or movies, but on the EL stack I could.

I sometimes see Lcd-X on amazon.de for 715 euro used, do anyone have experince buying from them.
I would only buy almost new secondhand pair. Late 2019/early 2020 with the new mesh under the grills. It is relatively easy to find a pair around £900. It is worth the extra cash as they come with transferable warranty. Old LCD-Xs with unknown past for 715 euro sound too dodgy to me. That extra 200 buys you peace of mind and it is still a good deal.

Just received LCD X a couple days ago, i loved the sound, i just have a question since it's kindda bugging me...

The problem happened when i connect my LCD X limited to my desktop amp, when i touched the earcup parts, the headband parts and another metal parts as well, there's an audible little sound like little buzzing sound happened on both cup either when i played music or not, i tried different cable and it's still there, also different headphone doesnot have this issue (another planar/another dynamic), the buzzing didnot happened when i only touched the earpads, cable or when headphone not touched at all, and this only happened on my desktop amp, there's no issue when this connected to my dap and portable dac like chord mojo, sadly i dont have another desktop amp for now, so i can't tested it

I want to know anyone has the same issue, my desktop amp is questyle cma400i, i want to know if this issue is normal or not in audeze headphone because this is my first audeze, i didnot know about this issue since in store i tested it only on my dap, maybe someone can enlighten me what actually happened ??

Perhaps some grounding issues with the amp? I am not sure.

Very likely there is too much residual DC from the output of your cma400i. If you have a multi-tester, measure any direct voltage between the ground pin and + pin, ground pin and - pin of the output when no music is playing. Residual DC affects all headphones and can damage the voice coils. The LCD-X has low 20ohm impedance so it is the one suffering the most.

Likely there is some faulty DC blocking capacitors, or faulty DC servo opamp in your cma400i.

I just remembered i had xonar stx soundcard, and i tried to connect my lcd x there, well surprisingly it had same problem if earcup or any metal material touched there's buzzing too, but this time only almost inaudible ,and also weird, that just after that, i tested again on my cma400i, there's a buzz yes but it's only slightly barely can be heard/noticeable this time same thing when i connected this to my xonar stx, after i played some song and stoped, i touched again the earcup, the buzzing happened again in normal volume/desible

I never noticed it when i connect my other headphones to this amp either with stx or cma400i (z7/hd800/oppo pm2, SR1, beyerdynamic t1p)... until now with my lcd x, i also not notice it with my ibasso SR1 headphone, with specs only 22 ohm but that's dynamic, this is my second planar, also the lowest impedance cans i ever have for now

I just thinking now If i never had LCD X in my collection i never would notice this problem, well it;s not big deal because doesnot affected my listening experience, just must be careful not to touch the metal parts, luckily the buzzing only will appear if it got touched, i need to check with the other desktop amp to make sure about this

I dont have multimeter, i cant tested it...

Update : Problem solved, The buzz problem only happened when i set my foot/body parts on my wall, i just realized this since my habitual on listening cans is set my foot on the wall, if i set my foot on regular sit position, the buzz is not happening, weird, this only happened to LCD X but i guess it's grounding ??! what do you think ? thanks for the help anyway...

Also i touched the wall with my hand/body, buzz it's happening there when i set my body toched the wall not only with my foot, weird, the wall is the culprit after all
