The Norne Solv X is much more advanced than the Forza Audioworks cable that is linked.  The Solv X is Type 6 Litz that has 11 textile cores, the center core is conductive.  It's like compareing apples to oranges.  The Norne Solv X is the only cable with this design in the world!

Shame it's just incredibly expensive. Yeah okay you get fantastic quality for the price, but still; it's MUCH more than I wanted to spend. I have to think this over before I make any choices.

Yeah I'm pretty sure I'm going to get a Solv X now. Everybody is just so enthousiastic about Norne cables and especially this type; both here in the topic as via Private Message.
The cables themselves aren't too expensive either, compared to other brands, but the taxes that you have to pay here make them expensive. Still like said: it's an investment.

My favorite cable brands are Toxic, Norne and Whiplash. 
 
I got a Whiplash V3 Hybrid for my T1, Toxic Virus Hybrids for my CIEMs and Alpha Prime, Norne Arcane (similar to Solv) for X1. 
 
Toxic are also very good cables. Occasionally might be a wait due to popularity but the end product is awesome. Same with Norne and Whiplash.

Thanks! I've emailed Trevor to ask about the differences between Arcane and, for example, Solv X in performance, as there's not much description on the Arcane.

Q Audio makes some of the best cables I have seen or heard.  I have one for my LCD-X and had 1/8" connector put on it for portable use.  It is a stunning and very high quality of cable. My love of Norne has more to do with Trevor being such an amazing person to work with on getting you exactly what you want and then standing behind his work.  His customer service is out of the park.

My budget is $2000, although I would preferably spend a bit less.
Would Metrum Octave (Non-oversampling) DAC be a good pairing for this headphone? 
Are there better DAC options for LCD-X (within my budget)?

Why these should be better than Octave?

Schiit Audio Gungnir DAC and Mjolnir headphone amp. $750 each. Fully balanced configuration. I have this exact combo driving my LCD-X. Awesome setup. Just replaced the Mjolnir with the Ragnarok to run speakers too. Look at the upcoming Yggdrasil DAC at $2299. Comes out end of Q1 supposedly. Word is it holds its own against DACs many times its cost.
