I wonder if the flattening of one pad could be caused by how the headphones are stored when not in use?

I just hang them. No stress on the pads

I used a pair of Audeze "lips" that come with new pads and stuck them underneath the pad itself to raise it a bit and this seems to have solved my issue for now

What was it like going from the earliest versions to the latest sound and comfort wise?

The newer one definitely improve in all area. Much better and comfier headband, more comfy earpad, and I think slight lighter in weight as well.

Sound wise, the new version offer more clarity, detail, and closer to being neutral, while still retain musical and punch really well. Soundstage also noticeably wider and better depth.

Strange question, I know… Anyone find that their LCD-X is picky with sources due to its low impedance?

My Benchmark HPA 4 is dead silent at full volume.
