I just hang them. No stress on the pads

I used a pair of Audeze "lips" that come with new pads and stuck them underneath the pad itself to raise it a bit and this seems to have solved my issue for now

I use the original piece of foam spacer that came in between the drivers when I hang them on a stand for a long period of time and I have never had any problems with the pads

Yeah that's a good idea, I'm also using that foam spacer for my pair

Just to add opinion, so far I never had any problem regarding pads on LCD-X, on both 2021 and 2013 version.

The newer one definitely improve in all area. Much better and comfier headband, more comfy earpad, and I think slight lighter in weight as well.

Sound wise, the new version offer more clarity, detail, and closer to being neutral, while still retain musical and punch really well. Soundstage also noticeably wider and better depth.

A powerful amp should run the X’s no problem. Better extra juice than not enough. My Moon 430 ha amp run my X’s with tons of power to spare. I just keep my volume down to a comfortable listening level.

Yes, could not be paired with Wells Milo due to loud hissing on the background when no music playing. Sound wise, they're great though.

I don't have a 500.00 amp but I thought it sounded better than a Bryston BHA-1 or Prima Luna EVO 100 or Mjolnir Audio Dynalo Mk I.

For $100 you can already have headamps with 90% performance of the HPA4, you just miss out on build quality, connectivity, headroom and the SOTA specs, just saying.
