Audeze LCD-MX4

I might need to grab a pair as well.

Although it sounds like it's just the "bigger" brother to the LCD-X?

...I’d bet these will see a steep discount come Black Friday time to get more of them on the market. Anyway, being an LCD-X fan I think I’ll really like these... that is until it’s time for that final upgrade to the LCD4’s!
I predicted this price drop a few months ago, since you could tell from the resale prices of the MX4 that there was no way Audeze was moving very many of them at the MSRP. At $1500 this headphone is a no-brainer to buy. That’s less than you’d pay for the LCD-X & LCD-3 from some retailers ***. Even though I sold my pair of these I’d recommend them strongly, they are much lighter and more comfortable than the LCD-X and the LCD-4 and the imaging they offer is amongst the best I’ve heard. It is a more intimate soundstage than the LCD-X but the placement of musicians front to back and left to right that can be discerned through these cans is like sitting in a studio with them playing all around you—which I think is exactly what Audeze was going for with these. It took me until I’d committed to selling mine to really notice this but damn was I impressed once I did. I’d also add that just having gotten the LCD-4 and having been a longtime owner of the LCD-X, the MX-4 is much closer in sound to the latter in my opinion—which is not a bad thing since the X is still one of my all time favorites. I’m glad Audeze took my advice on the pricing (lol) so more people can hear these cans!

I own the MX4 and they are incredible. Given the sound quality, I am surprised they dropped the price so much. Maybe they are seeing how much better the models under 1k are selling and figured that lower margins / higher volume is the way to go...

Still, this is an insane discount.

...thinking about it, maybe they are doing it to create the buzz these headphones deserve? In Europe they are still 2550 EUR on Amazon and 3000 EUR + on most other sites.

It’s every authorized US Audeze dealer that has this deal while they last. It’s only a few but they are available in multiple wood trim. I believe we have 8 in stock and a couple B stock at a but better discount. Audeze says it’s a season sale not a price adjustment

Hope that helps ....have fun!

Would you happen to have any pics of them with the wood trim?

I just checked the weight on these and it's nearly 570 grams.
I understand that in comparison to the LCD-4 and X that it's a bit lighter, but that is way too heavy for my noggin.

The Audeze site has pictures. All our inventory is in factory sealed boxes ....sorry my bad, I should have been a little more clear. The MX4 are all black ....the other units have wood options

were on earth is the mx4 sold for 1500 usd for a new unit
Wooaudio and amazon(seller is audeze), could be others but no bother.....SCORE!

I know it’s Audeze as seller as I was not taxed and got free shipping, they had in stock 15 when I pulled trigger. Merry Xmas!

Sorry didn’t notice other comments and was catching up, all other comments made me feel better about purchase.

Together we are strong and we send pricing message.

3k = no buy!
1.5k = ok, I’m in

Question:How do you feel about comparing to lcd4 and lcd-x at 1.5k, is better? Ho Ho Ho

Call me Arnold, I pick it up, I put it down, I lift weights.

Hi, I have the LCD-X and am very happy with them (except for the weight). I would not spend $1,500 for a lighter version of the LCD-X, but I might spend $1,500 for a lighter headphone that is meaningfully better than the LCD-X.

Can anyone who has heard the LCD-X and the MX4 side-by-side describe or try to quantify how much better the MX4 sounds?

Note: My amps are the Monolith Liquid Platinum and the Schiit Jotunheim.

Thanks very much and happy holidays to all!
