I come from Utopia, and thought I'm not easy to impress.
But the LCD5 skin me around...
Definitely a upgrade to the Utopia!

Dire Straits is amazing on the LCD-5!
theyre good on everything

I think they recorded a special way and I cant remember the story behind it but their stuff sounds amazing on everything

something to do with recording at double speed or 2x as slow....I don't know how any of that stuff works

Here is a small comparison of Resolve and Oratory.
The frequency curves are from the Neutron Player and show what changes you make.
Preamp: -8.3db

Resolve

Oratory

Resolve

Oratory

What a surprise.
I like Resolve's settings much better than Oratory's.
More punch, more clarity.
Thx @Resolve

Edit:
After some brain-burn-in,
i have to retract my statement.
Oratorys sound more coherent and, above all, warmer!

It's likely down to minor unit variation. I need to get a new one in.

For those wondering about where that indication comes from, here's what I'm talking about when it comes to unit variation, and what's likely responsible for narratives around EQ profiles - whether they do or don't work for someone is also influenced by the fact that different units are being used. This is also why if you're going to get into EQ, you should only ever consider other people's profiles as a starting point.

Mine was even darker, interestingly enough, although of course not an actual GRAS: https://vsg.squig.link/?share=Harman_Combined_Over-Ear_Target,Audeze_LCD-5

Lowering band 5, by 1-2db, moved the sound in the desired direction
(on my Lcd-5).
This brings warmth.
The resolution of the LCD-5 is so brutal,
that an extra dose of warmth is recommended.

Awesome on the LCD-5 👌😳
