Honestly many amps will work well, I am very happy with my Chord Hugo TT 2/Mscaler combo. But even the Hugo 2 drives it extremely well, which is useful for road trips.
What streamer are you using with Chord Hugo TT2 please?
I have been thinking about getting the Dave. Many people say that headphones amp is very in this DAC

When I think of heaven, I think of Mscaler -> Chord DAVE -> WA33.... plus my choice of LCD-5, Susvara, and Abyss... I can dream can't I?
I run mine off of DAVE, either with or without a WA1. A little more warmth with the WA1 in line.

Yeah, if I remember correctly WA1 is an old version tube amp? This is what I LOVE in all tube amps - warm sound.

Did not realize you wanted more than the amp. DAC/streamer is dCS Rossini + Word Clock.

I need to try WA23!!!
Highly recommended!

It's the only LCD-5 pairing in which I don't feel the need for any EQ. All the detail and nuances are there, plus the warmth and bass slam that the WA23 inherently produces. It sounds great from both the Hi and Lo impedance settings; however, despite the low impedance nature of the LCD-5, there's a slight V-shaped effect on the LCD-5 when playing in the 'Hi' setting, producing a bit of extra bass and treble presence that matches very well with the LCD-5 character.

Yggdrasil OG A2 -> Mjolnir 3 -> LCD-5 is a great combo.

Also sounds amazing on my bedroom setup of RME ADI-2 DAC -> Midgard -> LCD-5.

Yes it’s a very stylish cube with a heavy glass top surrounding the tubes. It has a very poor DAC in it but fortunately you can bypass that. I have it connected to the DAVE and have the choice of the clinical beauty of the DAVE output or adding the warmth of the valve amp to the DAVE depending on my mood. The LCD5 are so faithful to the chain they are a great headphone to use when you are making changes in your system. While not difficult to drive they do benefit from a strong amp. I very rarely use them with the Mojo2 for example as I find the sound a bit thin with the LCD5 from the Mojo2. Fantastic from the Hugo up though. I found a magical pairing of a 0G Grado RS1 with the Mojo2 so usually have that combo in my suitcase as my Hotel system.

LCD5 is my daily driver along with Niimbus/WA22. I especially like LCD5 plus WA22. I think WA23 and 33 would be even better, but wa22 wins the price.

Which tubes are you using in the WA22? I've got a WA22 and LCD-5 myself, but never tried them together. I kind of figured my tubes would heighten the mids presence a bit too much.
