There's a headphone festival in Tokyo next week and I think Audeze will be there (they were at the last one) so I'll try to give iSines a good listen. I hope it'll be possible to try them out with and without lightning.

  I thought they're not supposed to insert into ears at all. When I tried them at a show I was told they're just supposed to sit on top of your ears.

The iSINE 10 and 20 will both sound fine with a light insertion but performance is much enhanced with a proper seal as designed.

@Audeze will they stay in with the proper ear tip and inner-ear securing mechanism, or do they also require the hook around the ear?

@8BitKid  - The Earlocks are very secure, but like any in-ear ring, they take a little getting used to. In addition to holding the iSines, they also create a little bit of positive pressure which is helpful. We supply them in multiple sizes so it is easy for users. At any time either the earlocks or the ear hooks can be used. Both cannot be used at the same time. 
 
The concha ring that is supplied with the iSine's were initially developed for the military by SureFire. SureFire office and factory happens to be just around the corner from Audeze's factory. So we licensed the earlocks from them and had them help us in design them for the iSine headphones.
