Audeze CRBN Review, Interview, Measurements

NOTE: If you can't see the embedded video above, please CLICK HERE to see the video.

If you ever thought Audeze was shifting its focus away from hardcore audiophile products, think again. As if to make the strongest of statements otherwise, Audeze is launching a flagship-class electrostatic headphone today. Audeze Founder and CEO Sankar Thiagasamudram visited us at Head-Fi HQ to discuss the Audeze CRBN, its fascinating backstory, and the engineering behind it, and its carbon nanotube diaphragms.

Of course, we also give it a listen and discuss its sound, as well as take a look at measurements of the Audeze CRBN (including measurement comparisons) made using the following:

They are build to order, so first impressions will probably take another 4 weeks

So far resisting the urge. This does look exciting but requires a complete system commitment. If I already had an appropriate amplifier the order would already have been placed. The last time I had an electrostatic headphone was 50 years ago(Koss ESP-9B). I will probably wait for impressions since there is no financial incentive for early purchase. If I do decide it will be purchased directly from Audeze given their 30 day trial program. I will do the same for an amp or energizer purchase.

What amps would anyone recommend for Estsats? I have zero experience in the Estat playing field.

Ha my rumors were correct two years ago. I knew Audeze was making a Estat. You naughty dogs.

@Jason Stoddard
Now can you finally stop wasting time and make us a cheap Estat Amplifier. Pretty please :p

You know... JOTUNHEIM "E" $500

Gotta resist as well unless someone is buying my amp 😅

Headamp Blue Hawaii SE, Mjölnir Audio KGSSHV Carbon (or just use a Stax amp, if you don't want to spend that much)
anything you could recommend from Woo Audio?
